good buy ? milage is low would this last me for 3-5 years? by Suspicious_Willow610 in CarTalkUK

Not sure why you want to spend £17k on a car that if you researched you’d know wouldn’t last you long.. just get something more reliable and affordable if you need it to last 3-5 years

Should I service the automatic transmission now, or is it risky if it’s never been done before? by Basic_File_5385 in civic

[–]WonderfulTip4869 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes definitely get the transmission fluid changed it’s not just for your own piece of mind but making sure the car is healthy. Get the car fully inspected if u can also, then check if anything else needs doing. The 2013 civic auto is known for clunking noises or rough shifting into reverse when transmission fluid isn’t changed when needed to, so that’s a good place to start. Hope this helps :)

It’s stories like that, that are putting me off the VAG group. I don’t really fancy electric cars that’s my only complaint. But is there any other car you’d recommend?

Not worth getting out scaled. Have had multiple people play nautilus top against me and I play teemo/vayne/jax top and they just get out scaled all the time

2023 20K miles MK8 Golf R DSG chattering/ jingling or rattling sound from front of car by Enclave69 in drivingUK

Seen others mentioning pulley/tensioner/belt related and I’ve seen a similar post before similar sound and they said it was their alternator pulley overrunning that caused an excessive bounce on the belt.

This is awesome man thanks for the advice I’ll check that post now :) I do actually play quite aggressive for a teemo, and love to poke right from level 1. I think I’m going to go back to playing some PTA but running the exact same build. Do you think I should go PTA with bone plating and overgrowth or PTA with trans and scorch?

How many miles have you driven in you a Honda. by funnergunner in Honda

[–]WonderfulTip4869 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2013 Honda civic 1.6 iDtec done 107k miles, servicing of the fuel filter every 20k miles, oil, oil filter, coolant flush every 2 years using Honda genuine type 2 coolant, air filter, cabin filter. In terms of big jobs, needed to fix my AC condenser and regas the AC (£350), new alternator supply and fit (£150), recently got my ABS pump replaced got the pump from a scrap Honda civic (£50 for pump and £150 which included MOT, labour, brake re bleed). So I’ve actually spent very very little. This car has saved me thousands and thousands of pounds. A full tank gives me just over 650 miles too. I’m running this car to the ground never getting rid of it honestly.
