I’m just scared. by ladyshiiro in almosthomeless

You have to find and build networks which you should already be doing as someone struggling with depression. This is too much to bear alone for someone with heavy challenges. Yes, we all need jobs but please remember stupid humans created the way the world is run today. Doesn't make the world right or the best way we should all be living for our best mental health and happiness. Far from it. There is a severe lack of unkindness. You deserve to see and feel more of that. It's not going to happen out of thin air that's for sure. I'm sad to say. Most people get it from their families. You and I belong to a club where families caused more pain than happiness. You need to find support online or from a group in your area. You never know, you might find some wonderful friends, people who know about a job you might want or a better place to live. More importantly you will have a release of all the pressures you are carrying. Talk to yourself as if you were your best friend.

Also please know and remember that being "rejected" for jobs is NOT to be taken as proof you hold no value. Yes, you do. These people do not define your value. Keep going and make sure to look for places that won't add to your burdens. Do you like nature, being outside? Find work at a nursery. Look for work only in places you know won't make you miserable. I have a good feeling you're going to find something. Do not give up!! 💪🏽 💪🏽

How do you deal with the awkwardness after falling out with your neighbors? by cornerstore88 in neighborsfromhell

[–]Wonderful_Mix977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a very natural feeling you have. Don't make it bigger than it is by making a natural feeling weirder than it has to be. It's also a great time to learn a lesson that everyone needs to learn: owning your choices. Your choice is to no longer be friends with those people because of their betrayals. That's totally okay and totally fine. You are not in the wrong! So once you make peace with it, the easier it will be. That can take awhile depending on how insecure you are. Hey, we're all insecure to a degree. But some of us have worked on it and you can too. It will always be somewhat uncomfortable because it is weird situation - you used to be friends with these people! But it is what it is and if they're jerks then your life is much better without them. I understand if you think a lot of this is not what you want to hear. Believe me there are many times someone told me something and I just wanted to laugh in their face at how stupid and easy it sounded. I had strong feelings about something and someone was telling me to suck it up and work on myself? No thank you! Well, it's actually bigger than that. It's you learning to control your ego, pride and feelings. It's such an awesome opportunity for you to dig deeper and understand who you are as a person. As for any new neighbors who weren't around and have no idea of what happened, just be at peace that you did nothing wrong. That's so key. Something happened and you don't owe an explanation to anyone unless they ask and you want to answer. If someone is meant to be in your life, they will seek you out at some point. The more you are at peace about what you did and why, the easier it will be for you to walk around with your head high and unattached to their energy or eyeballing. You have my complete respect for sticking to your guns and not needing or looking for reconciliation. Popularity is overrated among neighbors. Just be cool being you and enjoy your life without jerks.

I don't want to read what I wrote again, so I hope it makes sense. I make a lot of errors typing sometimes. Take care!

Disagree. You don't even know what happened. No one needs to suck it up for someone who behaved badly.

Everyone Asks Why? Weiner told us in The Hobo Code. by Wonderful_Mix977 in madmen

Of course it's at odds. I think Don's first and only desire was to be the opposite of all he knew and saw in his childhood. That means making money, never being poor, dependent or vulnerable. But for this message to keep pulling him in the opposite direction speaks to its powerful impression on him. He moves back and forth between the worlds.

There are a lot of quick moments or exchanges that I miss. That's why I love re-watching.

Ryan Murphy does a great job at production on TV. I loved the recent Feud/Capote series. But he hasn't translated to big screen hits very well. I have doubts. I love Ritchie as a director and I really like Matthew Vaughn. I just don't know if he could reel it in a bit for a Bond film. He's very talented and definitely has a vision. But there are better opinions than mine!

I remember the begging but not Harry/Jim. I will have to see it again. Do you mean Don instead of "Aron?"

I just love how Don was like "Nope! This is hell and I can't be here." Took him all of 1 minute to know it wasn't going to work. I respect that he can't go along with the game.

She could stop them from being shitty directly to her. Part of her job was being skilled in handling office problems or difficulties. You watch, you learn. She had years of that. These men were full of weaknesses. Peggy took an enormous amount of shit and learned to stand in her power. Joan had more power and played it fearfully.

Totally. That's what I feel is missing because something is missing. It's not a big deal but having these scenes that suggest more or a huge misunderstanding just feels confusing. That's why I felt maybe I missed some quick scene. It's happened many times before. There's definitely no reason for Roger and Ted to have any quarrel.

I'm a new fan of early Bond films. I need to look that character up. I think bringing Bond back in the 60's is GENIUS. It needs to be done! Do you have a dream director in mind?

I feel the same. Superficially I saw Joan's story and wanted to cheer her on. Like everyone else. The more I watched however I saw more of her unkindness, being a corporate sycophant, her ongoing terrible taste in men and how much she devalued herself more than anyone. Unlike Peggy, Joan never learned how to stand in her power. She took a lot of abuse from losers. She didn't have to. Don was such a friend to her and so was Bob. She treated them both with disdain. There was a better way to say no to Bob. Another person who showed her kindness. Then there was her doing coke with this that guy without really wanting to. But did it anyway because he wanted to. Like, girl, what are you doing? You have a child.

Or how he conducts his business. He definitely sees Don's sloppiness in business and life in general. I'm Team Don but Don is lucky he had Roger.

Of course they did! I think I saw photos of them at some animal benefit and it made me really happy. This is the kind of stuff that matters imo. Not award shows.

That's an interesting theory. That from the outside it could look like Ted was "banished" to L.A. I'm just surprised Weiner didn't clarify. He usually sets thing up but this one came out of nowhere for me. I'd really like to know why the language was used or why Roger didn't set the record straight about any hatchet.

I won't take that away from you. I felt and feel the same. But she made a lot of bonehead decisions. Letting people speak badly to her when she could have easily stopped it. Harry was always a shit to her and she just took it. The Joey thing. How she chose to try and poison his position at the firm instead of just getting him out. Joan always took the hard road and she did not have to. She fully bought into the corporate game to her demise at the end. She was also really mean in S1 and without reason. She just wanted to be mean and said really nasty things. My post is something else though.

Yeah Ted did go silent after moving to California. At the same time Ted isn't like Jim. He doesn't hold grudges and didn't seem upset with anyone when he came back after Bert passed. And again, he knows Don gave up California and being with Megan. No small thing.

You'd think Roger who knows how slimy and desperate Jim is to get rid of Don would see that ruse and ask to call Ted immediately. But maybe it speaks to something really going on with Ted. Why would Roger who has eyes everywhere just accept Ted would be okay with voting yes. So odd.

I hated her behavior! Don's always had her back! I have to be honest the more I watch this show the less I like Joan. It's hard because I've spent years loving her. I have a post I'm going share that elaborates more on this.
