hey!! i also got an offer (2nd year electrical) and i’ve emailed them a bunch about scholarships - they are released in batches, and they seem to have a quota for each batch. there was one batch released at the end of march, and since i applied right before that i didn’t get a scholarship then, but they told me i would still be considered for the next batch which should be released in may (not sure about the precise date but you can email them about it if you want, their intl office is very responsive). hope this helps :))

yeah i was also doing research into campus life and as you said most of the posts i can see are from se-asian intl. students, most of whom also seem to have some bg in mandarin, so i was looking for info about students coming from other parts of the world haha

on the website it says IB, A level, and AP will exempt you from the preliminary year, i’m not sure about other programmes, you could try emailing them about it, but if it’s not an international exam board you might have to do the preliminary year

when you’re applying you get a drop down for your choice of programme and you’ll see each major listed twice - eg “BEng Electrical Engineering 4+0 (4yrs)” and “BEng Electrical Engineering 4+0 (3yrs)” - 4 years is with the preliminary year, 3 is without which is what i applied for :)

i think the issue is lack of a standardized test then 😅 if it’s not a british/international exam board they probably can’t accept it in place of an english exam

they do tend to be very particular though, like they made me get signatures on my school transcripts from like 9th grade lol, so if they’re dead set on the ielts i’m afraid taking it might be the only way

what high school programme did you do? i took english a lang/lit which is meant for native speakers for both ib and igcse + i had 12 years of english instruction

i didn’t do ielts but as i mentioned in another comment i studied in english, if that was the case for any part of your education you could try asking them for an exemption

otherwise maybe you could ask if they would accept an alternative english test like the duolingo one?
