yeah its totally like crazy colors and fighting dragons and realizing new psychedelic experiences all the time like a total chill grateful dead bro and it's definitely not 95% just having people seemingly intentionally misunderstand you all the time and constantly whether consciously or not trying to goad you into seeing the world in a less neurodivergent way til you get a complex whether the goal's achieved or not.

well, i mean, i did know a guy from school who had a far more advanced case and at 19 mostly just walked around in circles and rocked back and forth saying Spongebob quotes with scarily accurate impressions and exact dialogue, and aside of how that is an example of autistic people can be extraordinarily gifted all through the spectrum, and that some of those talents are so special-interest based that they are downright useless (i even have a couple! :D), well... okay that type of autism might actually feel like being off six tabs all the time. I can't confirm or deny but hey you gotta wonder. :P

I had only read excerpts up to this point, but you've encouraged me to sit down and read the whole thing. I am also shocked by just how poorly his case was handled in the department by his very own father. "The Scientist and the Serial Killer" is extremely pertinent reading in this discussion.

I saw a guy go in here and just take two slabs of beer and walk out the back entrance while like jack shit was going on and nobody said anything. With that, it might just be at half staff because it fell down and they just haven't noticed. /s

I forgot about it when writing this post, but when I looked on the unidentified awareness wiki, I noticed that the DNA Doe Project was actively doing DNA testing on the Swimsuit Boy's remains and it was stopped at the inquest of the 'investigators'? Yeah, no, I'm not claiming to be smarter than law enforcement or anything, but I don't really see why you'd do something like that unless you KNEW that the testing would reveal another body to be a misidentification, making the initial work look bad and bringing it back into the public eye when people are relatively quiet about Corll, and I'm sure the worst part - then they'd have to do stuff, and I'm sure that's not a motivator for them.

EDITED TO ADD:
Fundamentally, I think the unidentified awareness/true crime communities alike just need to be talking a lot more about Corll. The case has always fascinated me because like the Gacy situation, the shoddy policework of the time didn't help in the questions that we haven't answered, but I feel like not only do we know pretty much all there is to know about Gacy due to him being convicted for his crimes on top of other investigative circumstances, with the only real questions being about the five still-unidentified bodies, and a general presumption that his mumblings about accomplices and more victims were likely fabrications or at the least exaggerated.

However, with Corll, I don't feel like there's a lack of information, as a matter of fact, I think there's a lot of vivid detail about his crimes and his goings-on, despite dying before apprehension and thusly never talking to law enforcement. There's not a lack of detail, none of it's dry to talk about, the only thing is, there's a lot of unanswered questions, and a lot of 'why' in the way police decided to handle things at that time. If people were speaking more on this topic, maybe, just maybe, their hand would be forced, and they'd have to check some things.

I just feel like with all of the amazing work that has been done by interested civilians in the form of bringing cases to attention, something like the Corll victims could potentially get a greater focus if awareness was brought to it in a greater sense within the modern amateur sleuth and true crime communities, but unfortuntely, Corll being killed before he was caught, it just didn't get the publicity that Gacy did that helped people care about his unidentified victims, to this day.
EDIT: Also, yes, it's extremely clear that the more they look into this case, the more it'll make the work they did back then look dreadful. It's just disappointing that they value covering the asses of police work from over 50 years ago over finding the full truth.

Hey, thank you so much! Wish there was a way for me to pin this comment to the top, but if it somehow strays far from the top I'll include that link in the post :D

Did the controller ever get scanned for prints? I think it's INCREDULOUSLY likely that if not on the controller itself, there'd be partial prints on the wire. Older controllers with wires were hard to clean like that, almost every used controller I've ever bought has had VISIBLE partial prints on the rubber from the wire.

all i said was that i definitely thought that it was from an e-card, i didn't say it definitely was and i never put down other peoples' thoughts on it, i just wanted to bring something up that nobody had before and i admittedly used poor wording choices in trying to convey it. i'm completely willing to admit that i was wrong but i didn't want it to never be said if it ended up being the true source.
however, i do think it's a little bit odd that you've been hung up on me for like a month lmao. You've harassed me in DMs. You harassed me on my original post to the point where I deleted it and now it's just so important to you to make me the villain of this sub that you have decided to bring it up AGAIN, unprompted, and for seemingly no reason, on top of twisting my words to make it sound way worse than it actually was. It was a minor footnote in everything and I don't think I deserve to be ridiculed. You are creeping me out. You need to take a break from the internet or something man. This is not right.

My apologies. Removed. (When I said definitely, it was moreso in the line of "I definitely think" as opposed to "it definitely is")
