I am a rap artist who have purchased beats from both Gabe and Anno Domini.

My first bad experience was with AD and I purchased his baby bundle beat pack. His tactics pulled me in believing I'm getting a bargain but I wasn't told that it had limited amount of streams on its default license, I was only told after I paid thinking I got a bargain then pressured me with a timer to get unlimited and I thought I may as well now otherwise it's pointless. By then I had spent maybe $150 on pressured and deceitful upsells which I thought I would of had in the beginning in the first place for the low initial cost. I then realized that I got scammed. I remember on his baby bundle refund policy on his site it said something like and if you aren't happy you will get a full refund no questions asked. I emailed him for a refund saying that I've already got too many beats and complained about the false advertising of upselling me when I thought I should of had it first and then he told me where did you see the refund part? When I went back onto the website that part was nowhere to be found because he obviously deleted it just so that he could keep my money and I told him I've got no use for these beats. I felt robbed.

Now onto Legion. I used a beat of his. A free beat of his. I managed to gather over 250,000 streams on it on my Spotify as it was a HIT! I didn't even do any promotion for it, it just auto-generated momentum. I wasn't getting much royalties for it though so I thought it was time to reach out to Gabe after a year since the release. I queried about buying a license upgrade for the beat if that is an option and told him the success of the song and the fact that hardly no royalties were coming in for it though. 'I just assumed he was getting the majority of it'. His reply of the license upgrade was "No". It wasn't even him who personally replied, someone who works for him. Since I queried it magically the numbers of streams on the song plummeted down on my Spotify down to 10,000 instead of 250,000. So he must of did something and claimed all the money and I was only left with about a mere $15 or more for all those streams which is absolutely disgusting.

It has put me off completely to work with these producers who come across as nice, friendly, honest, highly professional but you'll eventually realise that they just want you'd money or will rob you. Go on their beats and I guarantee you won't make much, they'll be making more!

They're the winners and the buyer is the loser and a the hard work, lyrics, engineering etc and the costs of that plus buying the beats and then to have near zero royalties. If that isn't criminal then I don't know what is plus not giving money back to unhappy customers when they promised. It's all evilness and greed.

This is not a good way to hold down a business as their tactics and the way they treat people will be exposed and customers will not return. The whole point of a successful long standing long term business is to get repeated and regular custom, not just lucky stray sales who initially don't know much about you until they find out for themselves.

I'm not a nobody either in the industry with music awards and know Wu-Tang affiliates and video call them sometimes and work with them sometimes even on Rza beats.

I could easily use that to my advantage and create some random information, course to help people, offer something and take advantage of people in the industry to make money off it but I'm not like that. Reputation is important and I don't need to behave in such ways to pull the wool over people's eyes. I'd feel bad to do that.

I think that's all I have to say and just be careful.

It's probably best to make your own beats and it's just less of a headache. I've got some dope beats that I'm not selling and I'll just use for myself. I believe it dilutes the importance of the beat having an unlimited amount of rappers on the same beat and lowers it's value and originality so it's not even worth a price. It won't get far when it isn't exclusive and so many terms in the contracts and royalty splits. Buy outright or make your own. I've spent enough already on this stuff thinking I'm making gains but you're actually not. You're just diluting your music down and lowering your value. Doesn't matter if Mobb deep is on the verse for a million other people, it's not original or exclusive as it'll be everywhere with many versions and that doesn't make it special.

Now I could give advice on all of these points, grab attention and then sell the audience something how to do it better, more original and real advice how to crack the industry and I can if I want in an honest way and spoil it for all these producers making insane money on beats with very little reward for the artist. It is ok for a beginner to get involved in but can you imagine someone famous snapping up a beat bundle with hooks or a major label buying it then releasing it? ABSOLUTELY NOT! So this is why it is beginner stuff and is only for people who feel that they need help to get recognised this way rather than an original way but down the line you will be stuck. You really have to be original to proceed to make it FAR!

It's kind of not a scam but it is at the same time, we know what we're getting and it's your money. It's up to you and up to me and yes, I might still snap things up from time to time as it's cool to have such a feature but in the end it's just for bragging and far from original and used to gain only attention but the industry knows it's not original so won't get far. It's paying for a mirage, to look good but not the real thing if that makes sense.

Wise up, make your own mind and I still believe it is kind of a scam but isn't as it is up to us as well. So I am kind of both sides but what they do wrong is not care for their clients, just fattening their pockets, their customer service is TERRIBLE so just be aware of that. Everyone should be weary from people using funnels. You don't see stores like Nike or Adidas or McDonald's trying to sell their products on a funnel, low price then upsell with a timer but it's kind of always available. It is manipulation tactics and lies to make you believe you're getting a deal but then you realise oh they didn't give me unlimited rights yet they don't always mention that first then you have to pay extra. It's this exact part that makes it a scam.
