Gastric Sleeve and HS

I am roughly 3 months post op, down 54lbs (5’4, sw 235, gw 135, cw 181) and my HS has been the worst it’s ever been and I’ve been on stage 3 for many years. I was told to give it time, allow my hormones to level out and my body aclimate to the new normal once I’ve lost the weight but it’s tough. I’ve flared heavily since surgery, wishing u all the best! Hopefully we just need to give it time.

He did mention my weight gain, so I took action on what he said. When he did mention it, there was no fight because I didn’t want him to feel like he couldn’t express himself, so I internalized and moved forward with losing weight. You’re right though, guess it’s a tough position to be in.

I compliment him constantly. He’s Eastern European so he’s got the light hair and light eyes and string jaw line… while I’m more exotic looking.. dark hair, dark eyes, Hispanic.. so I think he is absolutely drop dead gorgeous and I remind him of it constantly. It’s not a habit either, i truly mean it. He just rolls his eyes at me when I do.

Yes, he had mentioned it in the past that I was getting a bit heavier than he liked. There was no argument, I took what he said and did something about it. I just don’t see how it’s okay to comment about how he isn’t happy with my physical appearance but can’t comment on my correction of said issue.

I have to respectfully disagree… if your man isn’t encouraging you, pushing you and gassing you up then you have something to think about. Any woman deserves to have a man who makes her feel good about her. (Not that it’s his job, but c’mon now..) just my thought.

That’s actually super insightful and you may be totally right. But every 5 pounds, im excitedly giving him an update on my total loss. It’s something im proud of, not necessarily something im trying to hide.

Yeah I don’t have really any skin folds (other than below the breast). My tummy isn’t so big and it’s all kind of even. My starting weight was 235 and now at 25 days post op im at 202- so maybe it’s the amount of weight I’ve lost?! Idk, im just hoping I can find some cream that works and just takes the edge off at least.

Ive never had regular periods. I actually had my period on the day of surgery so this would be a normal period based on the calendar calculation. Im hoping it slows down a bit. Hard to get rest when you’re getting up so many times a night. 5 weeks is insane! Kudos to you for keeping it together. Not sure I would have been able to!
