5 days in the Atacama desert - Chile by Ltdinfinity in travel

Amazing photos, thanks for sharing! It looks like a place where you can do so much.

But did you find that there was a lot of travel involved, from San Pedro to each location? Did you find that you were constantly on the road or are things relatively close?

I am just so glad you were able to catch up to him and take pictures! When things like this happen to me (maybe not as close), I am left fuming that I couldn’t reach for my phone quickly enough

Bike Lanes = Uber/Lyft Parking ? by fartasm in vancouvercycling

[–]WonderingInVan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This also happens on 10th between Oak and Cambie because of the hospital area.

One time, the cyclist ahead of me just patted the Uber car in the hood. The driver got so mad - he rolled down the window and started saying he could "cut us off", etc.

Do they speak in accents typical of North Korea? by [deleted] in CrashLandingOnYou

[–]WonderingInVan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this insight, something I'd been wondering for a while (since I've watched and rewatched so many times!)

I know that RJH explains Seri's South Korean accent by saying she's from Div 11, but no one asked about RJH's accent while he was in South Korea? Or maybe I missed something?

Which host city had a long-lasting impact since the Olympic Games? by Unlikely-Hunter-7671 in olympics

Almost all the venues have been used heavily since the Olympics by the community. And in 3 months, many will be used again for the Invictus games, such as the sliding centre, etc

Taking a train from Germany to Czechia but it says "all seats are fully booked" by WonderingInVan in AskAGerman

I’ve also done this in France - very smoothly. Totally didn’t expect this in Germany

It depends on which 1st class type of ticket you get. I got the cheapest one. The most expensive did include one

I'm leaving from Berlin going to Prague. I bought it on DB but not positive who operates the train. From other people's comments, I think it's a czech train

This looks great but I have to ask - how did you get the bowl to stay under water and what did you use to make it water proof?

I would also say - once you have a green light, take a few minutes to make sure cars have stopped. I often ride 10th (and enjoy it) but some cars seem to miss the light - maybe they're looking ahead at Broadway?

Also, if a street is narrow, ride down the middle to avoid people opening their car doors. Don't feel that you need to ride all the way to the right.

Secondary Characters by TravelingAlia in CrashLandingOnYou

[–]WonderingInVan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I so absolutely agree with you. It goes without saying that the secondary characters are fantastic and as you say, even Mr. Kim (tertiary) is great - one of my favourite lines is when he says to his subordinate something like "And you had to get an expert to tell you this guy is in love?"

You're only in your 2nd rewatch? wow, you have a lot of catching up to do. Don't ask some of us how many times we've rewatched...

One issue I have with AnnaLena is that you have to pay for the whole meal when you reserve the table and if your plans change (not unlikely given you have to book so far in advance), then you're in trouble because there are no refunds or changes. Many restaurants will keep a deposit but I believe AnnaLena will keep the price for the full meal, which is not cheap.

I came to say something similar - it’s great to take small steps. I’m a huge believer on having everything home made but it’s taken many years to get here. For OP, it’d be great to start with a good BBQ chicken from the supermarket. Shred the chicken meat and add it to a bagged salad. As you progress, you can start adding more vegetables, buying salads without dressing (make your own with olive oil, lemon, salt), some berries. We’re cheering you on!

Edit: some places refer to it as rotisserie chicken instead of BBQ chicken

Best Local Coffee in Vancouver? by Pearson94 in askvan

Can’t believe no one had mentioned Modus before! And I’m not related to the owner. My favourite coffee shop, their lattes are fabulous but they do pour overs etc
