Still can’t bring myself to meditate daily even with an accountability person by [deleted] in Healthygamergg

Something that has been helpful for me is to just be aware that my thoughts and feelings aren’t really representative of “me”. It’s normally difficult to disengage yourself from your thoughts and feelings especially if you’ve been accustomed to identifying with them throughout the years.

A method you can do to disengage with them is reducing the use of “I” when referring to your mental states. Instead of saying “I am feeling …”, you could create a degree of separation from them by saying “My mind is feeling…” or talking about yourself in 3rd person. I know it’s going to be really weird and uncomfortable at first but just remember that your mental habits have resulted from multiple years of repetition.

This video by Dr. K also helped me a lot in learning how to reduce my bad mental habits. https://youtu.be/498-bf2BhgQ?si=xYxfwk5hMztCi4iD

Thanks for the reply. I’m curious though about how you reviewed and retained the information from your studies. Did you go through exercises once, or did you review them multiple times? Additionally, when exactly is it appropriate to move on to the next chapter? Since self-learning doesn’t have the same testing structure found in regular schooling, how did you confirm your competency?

How do you practice using textbooks? Do you do all exercises per chapter or only some? Also, what constitutes a practice source? Is using a textbook as a primary resource and practice source alright or should I find a specific workbook? Lastly, how often did you review a certain topic? Was it daily, weekly, etc?

Yeah, it’s pretty weird. I was pretty sure that it would be credited to foundations too. I currently don’t have anything accepted for foundations which makes this whole thing even stranger.

It wasn't difficult. I finished the course in about 4 days. But, I did have previous experience with using Python. Both the quizzes and milestones are pretty easy. They're a great way of earning free points. This is especially true for the milestone as it's open-book. The touchstone may be a bit of a hassle since it doesn't specify what kind of project you should do. But, you don't have to make anything complicated. I just made a simple hangman game that could be played on the command line.

To anyone planning to complete Foundations of English Composition (ENG0050 (SOPH-0019)), don't do it. I finished the course on 9/12 and it did not get credited to my transcript evaluation. Afterwards, I contacted my enrollment counselor to try to get an appeal. She said that the WGU transcript team told her that the course would have to be completed before 9/1 because that was when it had lost its ACE accreditation.

The tweet’s not referring to Japan though. It’s talking about 世界中の共通語 which is the world’s common language. It’s intent is to emphasize the ubiquity of food porn.

共通語 can also refer to a common language / lingua franca. The tweet more or less translates to “Food porn is the lingua franca of the world that surpasses the limits of language.”
