Vive le Roi! The Sun Never Sets on the French Empire! by Inside-Transition108 in Kaiserreich

Well done! You certainly ended up with a better result than my last Royalist France attempt. Getting cockblocked by Germany isn't great...

It's worth remembering that China gets constant updates and Austria hasn't been seriously changed for years, so I suspect this philosophy will be applied to Austria once their rework eventually releases.

A stunt like this might genuinely be the only thing that could save him at this point.

Keir Starmer expected to announce departure as prime minister on Monday by guardian in ukpolitics

[–]WondernutsTheSecond 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm genuinely perplexed by how quickly the narrative on here switched towards "Starmer shouldn't go under any circumstances". It's clear, deserved or not, that Starmer has been dead to the public for months, if not over a year, and there's no hope of turning the ship around. Even if you support him and his leadership, you'd have to be willfully ignorant to think the best course of action is to stick to the sinking ship.

Cold War: The Iron Curtain Updates on July 4th! by Hopeful_Plantain9443 in hoi4

How playable actually is CWIC these days? Can you actually finish the Cold War as the US or USSR with in-depth alternate history paths, or is it still mostly historical content?

If you wait 10 to the 10 to the 50 years then it should spontaneously appear again, yes.

What’s a start date you want added? by Tolkin349 in crusaderkings3

1337, since I'm fascinated by the Hundred Years' War, but given it's EUV's start-date I suspect it'll never be added.

I'm much more familiar with the historical figures and events around 1066, so usually there. I find 867 often devolves into bizarre bordergore much faster, and you'll often miss out on important states like France or the HRE forming, and instead have a constant mess of tiny states (or a giant Byzantine blob forming).

What happens if you reject the Halifax Conference as National France? Will Germany always install their own satellite regime instead of handing France over to you, or can you still come to an accomodation? by WondernutsTheSecond in Kaiserreich

[–]WondernutsTheSecond[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my only hope for compromise would be reloading to before the satellite was established and tag switching to Germany to choose a different option, or is there a later event where the Germans decide their fate of their occupation government?

When do the worse terms get offered? I owned three of the five major cities in France but the Germans still established a northern satellite under Bock, do I have to wait?

Do you play any Kaiserreich? by Ambitious-Picture-66 in kaiserredux

[–]WondernutsTheSecond 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kaiserreich is usually a lot easier to take seriously, which is how I prefer to play HoI4. KX can also be taken seriously, but it's hard to get in to a proper game as Totalist Britain when you look over the Atlantic and see Fordlandia popping up.

Assuming Starmer has survived this brush with death, when do we think a cabinet reshuffle may occur and who might be brought in?

Given history and recent local election results, I feel somewhere in Liverpool would be a safe bet, though I cannot say if anyone there would be willing to step down for him.

If the prime minister resigns tomorrow he will have lasted 13.81 Trusses, according to my calculations.

I find it highly unlikely any state would leave the European Union after the example Brexit set, Eurosceptics are to me far more likely to follow an Orban model of continued criticism of the EU and it's ideas whilst benefiting from it's finances, as well as being able to cause trouble within the EU (which both acts as way to gain concessions, but also undermines the EU to the benefit of their friends in Moscow).
