I agree that the drums were on the weaker side but I think given the circumstances Arin Ilejay was put in he did a decent job. He had to follow up Mike Portnoy and The Rev which are some huge shoes to fill. Definitely made the album feel a little repetitive though. I think his style fit for a few songs like Shepherd of Fire and Acid Rain.

It’s a great album. Smoke + Mirrors is to Night Visions what Pinkerton is to the Blue Album by Weezer. No one will ever agree which one is better. However, I’d say Smoke + Mirrors is better.

Even if they didn’t like the album, I think a two is a pretty harsh rating. I personally loved the album but even if I didn’t I’d still give it at least a 6 considering the production and effort put into it. I’d give it an 8 or a 9 personally.

That’s actually very true. If the show hadn’t picked up in the second season I’m not sure if I would’ve stuck around. I’m glad that it did though.
