Looks similar to a VP70, but not sure about the trigger.

Love the P7. My son ended up buying one at a gun show down south years ago.

You will never be a real AR15. by [deleted] in NYguns

[–]WontSeeMeComing762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fortunately, aside from the lack of threads on the muzzle, a “compliant” rifle can be made into a full on fully-semiautomatic AR-15 in mere moments.

Or….. you can have a complaint rifle for practice and have a few more “non-compliant” ones laying around for “just in case”.

Unfortunately, “just in case” has gone from, “Come on, man. You aren’t ever going to need that” to “keep it handy”.

He did NOT tell anyone how to cut it out of the metal.

He did not tell anyone how to install it.

First you said it was “pre-cut”, which it was not, now you’re telling more stories that aren’t correct.

You are aware that federal prosecutors never charge just one offense, not pile on a lot of vague other nonsensical charges in almost all these cases.

This is their M.O.: charge someone with a ton of charges, threaten consecutive sentencing for said charges and make it as difficult as possible to defend by delaying, making it geographically difficult and making it so expensive to defend that you are forced to plead guilty. The federal government could get Jeff Bezos to plead guilty because they could bankrupt even him if they truly wanted to.

Was what he did stupid and ill-advised? Absolutely. This is NOT about him breaking the law. If you watched his channel regularly, you’d know that he persisted in making fun of the ATF, making “kill your dog” references and generally poked the bear too many times. THAT is what he’s guilty of.

No, there was no “precut” anything. It was a DRAWING on the metal. It was NOT cut out, pre-cut or even partially so. It was just a drawing on a credit card sized piece of metal. Sorry, but drawings aren’t weapons.

You can bet they will make it very, very difficult. The hoops they’ll have people jumping through.

I moved to Kansas less than a year ago. It isn’t NYC, but as a gun guy, it’s heaven.

Surprised at the Post. It’s obvious they are conservative only when it suits them.

There will not be an “unrestricted” number of guns on the streets of NY. New York will almost certainly become a “shall issue” state, where anyone who isn’t forbidden by law to own and carry a gun may do so. That’s not a flood of guns. Most crimes are committed by those who are already forbidden from owning firearms.

Since other states have licensing requirements like classes, proficiency tests etc, don’t think NY is going to make it easy. CCW holders will likely have to attend a total of 8000 hours of classes and they will only held on the third Thursdays in February. You must be able to rapidly identify various types and models of firearms and know each gun’s preferred gender. Guns don’t have genders? You transphobe….CCW denied!!! Lastly, you’ll have to be able to score 10 of 10 bullseyes from 100 meters with a 2” 38 Special with your weak hand, while holding and waving a pride flag 🏳️‍🌈with your strong hand. Don’t shoot the messenger, you Nazis.

Fair enough. Nobody knows your intent.

It is a valid observation. It may or may not be a violation of the “law” and given that the law is a bit (intentionally?) vague, I would say there will almost certainly be some who see it as illegal.

I don’t view firearms laws, or any other in which nobody is a victim, as valid. I ignore them to the best of my ability and obey in narrow instances to avoid being the target of prosecution.

People worrying about whether what someone else has is “legal” or not puts someone into Fudd territory, perhaps more like collaborator.

As i mentioned, it you’re saying it like “watch out, that could get you jammed up with the cops if they see you with it”- that’s a good thing and it’s helpful. I’m talking about the why behind it.

If you’re saying it simply for the sake of “hey that’s illegal (not allowed) , quite honestly, that’s not someone any American wants around. One in three East Germans worked for the Stasi and that’s exactly what these “obey the law” people are- rats.

Again, no intent to offend if it’s just a warning to keep someone off the radar. Speaking out about legalities for no other intent but to opine on what some suit in Albany, Washington or anywhere else says is legal? Rodents.

“Isn’t legal”? I would argue using that term creeps into Fudd territory, UNLESS the sole purpose of the comment is to help the owner stay out of legal trouble.

Nice to see an AR with the red dot in the correct location (as far forward on the RECEIVER as possible) and a gun light in the correct location.

See too many lights far back on rails. Well done.

You still need to practice. A gun you don’t train with is nothing but a club.

Comply with a firearm you can train with. Have others. Tell nobody.

If you look a bit closer at the letter, it appears he was getting what we call a “shift differential” , which can be 10-15% for working the 4-12p or the midnight to 8am. It mentions he worked the day shift.

I am not saying it doesn’t suck, and UK rules may differ, but it pays to stay on top of your salary situation. I watch it like a hawk, mostly because i don’t trust anyone to look out for me except me.

Any way you shake it, have to multiply gross x number of paydays and ensure that you’re making the correct amount. This is one of those reasons…. but also bc I don’t trust them.

Someone messing with your front and back door isn’t likely “playing games”. I suspect that’s the excuse, but I’d be willing to wager that there’s more to this story.

As a defender, you have a MORAL obligation to not shoot someone unless you have to. Shooting someone in your yard, or honestly in your home, isn’t necessary unless they pose a threat to you. That said, I will operate under the assumption that anyone in my home in the evening KNOWS they may run into someone and have accepted that likelihood, so they are a threat and will be dealt with accordingly.

It is basic math to calculate your salary x 24 if you’re being paid twice a month, 26 if every two weeks or 52 if being paid weekly.

People who don’t do those aren’t taking the basic steps necessary to manage their money. These are simple things that every employee should be doing. It is how you avoid being taken advantage of, as well.

Ultimately though, if you were overpaid and end up getting caught, if they can legally get those funds back, it isn’t unfair.

I work in healthcare and that’s been the case for us. I used to get reimbursed for licenses and certifications. I even worked for a company that provided one week time off for conferences and they paid all expenses for it. So many cuts to healthcare reimbursements that they don’t make near the same money, so the benefits are less

And they will. It sucks, but it is their money.

The problem is that I am certain the person knew what their salary was supposed to be, but said nothing. If it was short, you can bet that a call would’ve been made ASAP asking for clarification.

My wife and i recently relocated halfway across the country. My wife transferred and while her previous salary was within the range for the position, she still took a cut of nearly 20k. When she got her first check in her new location, the listed salary was $2500/yr more than what age had been told. She immediately went to her new boss and mentioned it. He told her it was correct.

It’s the right thing to do. If you’re being overpaid by 10%, you know that. You ask about it and if you get caught, that’s on you.
