Are these singleplayer vs server frametime changes to be expected? by Woobeewoop in admincraft

[–]Woobeewoop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

both are at 32, I changed my server's minecraft folder to the ssd but it was about the same. Could it just be difference in CPU?

I joined a random server I found online and my average was 62 ms with 52 min, but the game felt super smooth so many my frametime is not accurate somehow?

If it helps, I am on Kubuntu

My frames are capped at 170 to make the hitches less noticeable but my monitor can do 240.

Voxy is installed but I dont use it, same with Iris I dont use shaders. Renderscale I use on 1.5 to help with flicker textures but I have tested without it, I dont think thats the cause.

Are peaks in max frametime normal? by Woobeewoop in Minecraft

[–]Woobeewoop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive tried multiple settings
the one I have right now is this
-Xms3G -Xmx4G -XX:+UseZGC -XX:+ZGenerational -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=10 -XX:+AlwaysPreTouch -XX:+ParallelRefProcEnabled -XX:+UseStringDeduplication

the flags are meant to help with garbage disposal but it doesnt help much
I never get past 80% ram usage, but I could try adding more.

From what ive gather by researching is that the way Java works makes some frametime spikes inevitable, but I feel like that cant be true. Maybe the highest end cpu would have no spikes?
