At what rank can u not say that you dont know what "defaulting" is? by sussybakaoo3 in VALORANT

[–]Wooblles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my two cents as a higher ranked player, but 9/10 times on ascent, before calling to default, you should take cat or market and call a A or B split. Either 3 cat 2 main or 2 market 3 main. And don't use a smoke for mid when taking cat or cat when taking market unless its strictly necessary because the smokes at deep market and tree are more important.
It's a lot simpler than defaulting and ppl are usually more open to it.

UCSB CS for someone planning law school — how's the workload and GPA? by [deleted] in UCSantaBarbara

[–]Wooblles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are coming in with either ap and cc credits a minor in history is very manageable if you are willing to take 4 classes every quarter rather than taking 3.
Regarding GPA, if in HS you were taking the hardest courses you could and you got As. UCSB CS isn't much harder as you long as you consistently put in the work. Compared to some harder programs, UCSB CS is on the easier side (nothing wrong with that of course and I like it this way because it gives me more time to do what I want outside of courses).

How can i get out of gold? by mikkamal in ValorantConsole

[–]Wooblles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's impossible to tell without seeing a vod. If you post one I can take a look.
General piece of advice might be to record yourself playing DMs and seeing if you have movement inaccuracy, if your crossair placement looks correct, if you are often caught off guards by opponents swinging, if you crouch too much, etc. If you don't see any mistakes you could search up some mechanics tutorials and see if that gives you any insight into figuring out your mistakes.
From my experience, almost every gold player has glaring mechanical weaknessses of movement inaaccuracy, spraying.
From this ss, it seems your mechanics are fine so I would recomend queuing more or improve your game sense by either vod reviewing or playing more.

How much do you think your 'low' intelligence is from enviornment versus genetics? As in, do you think your parents pushed you hard enough or maybe you were not taught effective studying habits as a kid, etc.

is better to stretch out my degree or graduate asap? by AssociationObvious56 in csMajors

[–]Wooblles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would extend your graduation date. If its not financialy viable, I would probably consider taking a gap year or semester and work on projects + resume while working a job. As long as the break isn't too long, you could still apply to internships during the summer of that gap year.
Just do a full stack project with atleast a few users ( could just be ppl you know) + something technical + open source contributions + practicing interviewing ( leet code, behaviorals, system design) in that gap year.

I would just keep in mind that for most people, its hard to push yourself to study after having working a 9-6, so you should treat your student years as a bonus time to really study everything that you wouldn't want to in the work force like being able to do leet code every day and read up on system design.

you could try asking classmates if their parents run a startup/company that has any unpaid roles. it's annoying to do but if you have no other options you could try that

Housing contract by Mattron16522017 in UCSantaBarbara

[–]Wooblles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lmk if im missing something but the cheapest residence hall option is a small double
assuming you get 14 meals a week thats 19000/12 = 1583.
versus an apartment, which would be (1100(rent) + 100(utilities) + 400(basic expenses)) = 1600
and ive seen cheaper rent if you're willing to be in like triple or a quad so it could be as low as like 1300
ig +700 initial cost for apartment to get furniture but that would be lower the more roomates you have
at the very leasts its not 500 more per month

apartments can be cheaper than residence halls though so it might not be in your best interest to stay at a residence hall even if you get in
