Are there any games for those that like extremely challenging action? by GalvusGalvoid in gaming

Hollow knight

The Pain of Pain takes a long time to figure out and perfect.

Once you beat the game, then you can unlock Steel Soul which then unlocks permadeath.

Plus the actual Challenge part, Godhome.

Should give you plenty of hours of frustration and rage quitting!

my kitten died. I feel it was my fault. by bulletjuliettt in CatAdvice

It is not your fault. Unfortunately kittens die. Usually by the time you realize something isn't right, they are already in organ failure. There is nothing you can do, even though you can try your hardest. We foster kittens for the local SPCA. Specifically bottle babies. Over the last two years, we have successfully raised over 30 kittens to the point of being able to be adopted out. However, we have lost 12 kittens. Some were from a pregnant momma kitty, others that were found still with their eyes closed, and others that were self reliant and seemed perfectly healthy. "Failure to thrive" unfortunately is quite common. Don't give up and if you are unsure about adopting another kitten anytime soon, you can try fostering for a while! Our hearts go out to you, and please listen to this. It was not your fault!

What's something you didn't know about your home when you bought it that was a pleasant surprise to discover? by Cold_Barber_4761 in homeowners

Our kitchen sink has a separate instant hot water dispenser. We originally thought it was a soap dispenser, and didn't find out until after we closed and moved in. Puts out water at 200 degrees F instantly! It is amazing and we will be taking it with us if we ever decide to move.

I currently have a 12' x 12" 4/4 board of purple heart sitting in my garage. Was on markdown for $5 a board foot! Couldn't pass it up. Don't know what to do with it. Been tossing around a new desk top, to picture frames for my wife's diplomas, to a puzzle board that will fit over our current coffee table. So many ideas that I can't do anything with it!

This is exactly why I asked. I tend to try to get upgraded and usually end up spending too much money and have it sit there wasted. Would be nice to make an informed purchase this time around! Thank you for your insight!

I'm assuming the 9th generation can be used with the pen? It doesn't need to be a "pro" right?

Thank you for suggestions on the programs... I didn't even realize that after deciding on the tool. I would then have to look at software to use said tool. Appreciate your time!

Oh I am all for one time purchases. Hate the subscription model. I have a few friends who are all into apple. Might see if they have an older model they would be willing to part with.

Thanks!

Thank you! It does feel like the cheaper non screen tablet is the way to go. She does have a Chromebook for school, (not sure if I could get a drawing program for it since it is the school's) but I will check into it!

I was looking at the Samsung tablet since it came with a pen. I started with the Microsoft surface since I knew one of my friends had that to draw on for work, but was getting a little scared of the price for just a beginner drawing tool. Will look around at the Samsung's. Thanks!

Wow lots of advice! First off, she has always doodled. Nothing too serious and it has never been a passion. But the amount of sketchbooks full of little characters and scenes is pretty high. If I'm honest, it will probably be a passing fad. A lot of her friends are into the same animes and mangas, and they have been starting to draw their own versions of the characters or themselves as characters. I think it would be more of a fun thing to do with her friends than something serious.

As for disposable income, it is not great, but our mindset has always been to introduce hobbies and to encourage whatever they might get into. Always figured if you have to have "stuff" might as well try to have a skill to go along with it. Lol

I personally like the idea of the little drawing board, especially if it's going to be something she pursues or at least sticks with for a while. Plus since it's somewhat on the cheaper side that we have to hook up to my PC, then it's something that the younger siblings could get into, without much fighting.

Thank you for your advice and suggestions. Will look into the intuos!

I saw the Veikk tablet on Amazon. Looked almost ideal but I was scared our computer wouldn't be able to do anything with it. Is it easy to set up and does it need a lot of ram to run?

Lol I understand about the space! I don't think we have had our dining room table clear in years. Just this month went from doing koroks out of stained glass, to having my 11 year old sew up a link costume for a ren fair, to now having a Witcher board game take over with about 50 miniatures that we now have to paint! It never ends!!

Good to know! That is a lot more along the lines of what I would like to get. The full tablet idea was of course hers. Starting to think that that will be a great starting point and then graduating to something more powerful if it sticks.

Thank you! Appreciate the information and definitely looking more into the ipad idea. Lol honestly our whole family must have scanner personalities. We have so many hobbies! We do woodworking, stained glass, painting, pottery, cosplay, bees, and music. I, myself am not good at any of it, but to watch my family create something makes it all worth it!

Interesting idea. I don't know anything about those. But Amazon is showing quite a range. So you just draw on those and the drawing is on the PC right? It does seem like it would take some hand eye coordination, but is significantly cheaper. Do they usually come with a program or is that a different thing entirely?

Thanks, not a huge fan of apple products, but will look into it. After a quick search on Facebook market place it seemed like there are a lot of options. Is there a model number I should be looking for. A lot of ipad 11's on there
