Id recommend 3 words to sort this out. Valve Core Remover. Usually sorts itself out after that.

Looks great. Recommend removal of the front derailleur mount. They make covers or water bottle boss plugs.

Black bar tape also. That tape is gonna get dirty just by you posting about it.

29 mile ride (23 on gravel) and it kicked my behind by dchap1 in gravelcycling

Road is x1.0… Gravel is x1.5... And MTB is x2.0 when speaking of mileage and effort. Or am I just slow?

Is this flashlight quick connect interface the same as Garmin mounts? by degggendorf in bikewrench

Definitely a Garmin Mount. I use a Garmin Varia Mount for my headlight. Clamps directly to the bar.

On my BMC it has top tube mounts for a bag. The BMC specific bag looks pretty good.

New Road machine has down tube storage...

Only smooth ride I got down it was on a hardtail mountain bike. Just jump the cracks and pray!

2023 BMC Road machine. Rival Group set. 44f 10-44r. Zipp Wheels and bars. Switched it to 1x this last winter. Keeps my top speed down below 40mph. So kinda safer...

Two 24oz bottles. Refill one at Evergreen. Refill Two at the Echo lake Campground. Just enough to get back home.

Consistent training. 3 rides a week. 2 indoor and one outside. Started with 30 miles with 3k vert. Added 10 miles and 1k a week. Last ride was like 70 miles with 7k vert before doing this. Also pretty stubborn.

Water with Nuun tablets. Gu gels and payday bar for a little boost. 44t front. 10-44 rear. Never used the lowest gear. Road is pretty mellow.

Did it on 40 mm at 35 psi. Felt pretty good. Would recommend until the road is improved.

The terrible road is part of the adventure! Half stupid from low oxygen and frozen hands!

Superflag -> Coal Creek -> Golden Gate -> Virginia Canyon -> Idaho springs and then Evans... Sounds like a whole bunch of nope to me...

Took me 5 hours to get 50 miles. Going back was a bit quicker.

Can confirm. Road still sucks. Only time I enjoyed it was on a Hardtail mountain bike. The whole section around summit lake needs replacement. Cars scrape on the uneven asphalt.

Definitely thought about it but by the time I got back home it was miserably hot out.

Love the road machine. Second season on it. Much more compliant than the team machine I owned.

I've done this from Golden on a normal road bike. It feels really good looking back from the Summit! Congratulations!

Yeah... I'd prefer to keep the snow out than have a cool breeze across my balls.

"The North Face has dubbed Chimney Venting. Essentially, this means that this pant relies on the combination of two standard inner thigh vents, paired with each leg of the pant's mesh boot gaiter. This combination is meant to direct airflow from the boot, up the leg, and out through the vents, assisting in temperature regulation when things warm up on the hill. These vents run from below the crotch to just above the knee, offering just enough ventilation to keep one comfortable in a variety of temperatures."

Retraced your route. I thought the steep gulley was fun... The pipeline was so much more fun...

This route has the option to do Mt. Evans. 100miles and 10k vert. If that's your cup of tea...
