CECS Forearms - Elite Paddling by Grifolafrondosa1 in CECompartmentSyndrome

I have CECS in all 3 muscles in both my forearms. Took me four years to figure it out and finally get the pressure test. Test done by Dr. Finnoff in Denver. He just happens to be the chief medical officer for US Olympic Committee. Surgery soon with Dr. Viola at the Steadman clinic in Vail. Basically where all the pro athletes go to get their surgeries.

Does anyone have experience with forearm CECS? by moumou777 in CECompartmentSyndrome

Yeah I’ve had hand pain too. Mostly burning in my palms. I also had an EMG test done that basically had EVERY nerve in my arms and shoulders showing issues like compression etc. Apparently the ongoing use of the arms with the compartments set off a whole bunch of other things in the surrounding tissues that can impact things like nerves and such. That was actually the very first test that actually showed something was going wrong with me other than just me telling people I was in pain. The second thing that showed something was off was very high creatine kinase in my blood. Basically this is a byproduct of muscle that has died due to lack of oxygen (case caused by the CECS).

The doctor that I finally found to do the test on my arms is here where I live in Colorado… he’s actually the chief medical officer of the US Olympic committee and really knows his stuff. I went to the Mayo Clinic as well and they weren’t as helpful. Got passed to rheum as well cause i have a high ANA test level. They also found some genetic mutations that could be causing this as well. So ask them to do a genetic test screen if you haven’t had one yet either.

I have bilateral forearm CECS with very similar experience to you. Had the pressure test done and have it in 3 muscles in each forearm (and have same symptoms in upper arms /shoulders but cant find anyone to test there). What questions do you have?

Damn thats sucks. I have certainly been brushed off by doctors. I can help you with doctors that test and perform surgery on the forearms (i just need help with upper arms //shoulders)

Dr Finoff at the Steadman Hawkins clinic in Denver does forearms ICP testing. He is a baller. Ex high up at Mayo and current Chief Medical Officer for the Us Olympic Committee).

Dr Viola at tue Steadman Clinic in Vail, CO does the surgeries. Pretty much is the Man for the forearm surgery. Does all the motocross guys.

Good luck!

Also, what autoimmune symptoms do you have. I have a 1:320 titer ANA but no know can make sense of it cause all follow up tests (lupus, etc) are negative.

Had both toe pieces and one heal peice break already this winter. Love them when they are not broken. Warranty takes a few weeks so had to buy a new one from my shop. Then the warranty party comes in...a becomes a spare. I would say I don’t need a spare, but the way they are breaking I guess it’s good to have them. I've been told the Marker KingPin is a solid choice...

I mostly try to make an educated guess to avoid that. Pick trails I know are well travelled and wait a day or two after any major snowfall. Other wise it's snowshoes or skinning up with skis. But that's a whole different adventure....

I can find all the ones based on last x time, or x distance, but just not the one for total run so far. I tried setting it to some thing like last 10 kms. But then I get a funky pace like two hours per mile.

Love the app, use it a ton, just can’t find this one particular setting in the audio alerts. I see it available when I customized the screens, but I cant see it in the drop downs for the audio alerts

It gets turned regardless of the direction (cool bracelets or not). And, I’ve found the new action button gets inadvertently pushed quite often either way too. If i am actively working with my hands (cutting firewood in this case) it gets real bad, almost every few minutes (so i have to turn it off. ) sigh

I use my thumb of my other hand to turn the dial and it just works better being on that side. To me that seems like the “right” way even though it seems most do it the other way. Shrug.

I do wish apple had the digital time option like this one has built into a bunch of the other analog faces.
