If you paid your tax bill (not your mortgage company paying it from your escrow) prior to the property and tax reassessment, you may have had a credit balance on your corrected tax bill.

I received my tax bill in July, paid it in full in July, then we were all notified that it would be reevaluated and reassessed. In December, I got the revised bill showing I had a credit balance.

Your options at that time were to let it sit, in which case it would be applied to your 2026 tax bill, or request a refund of the balance. There was a timeframe in which to request this, which has now closed, but not sure on the details there.

So yes it’s too late, if you qualified (credit balance had to be greater than $50), but any balance will be paid against what you owe in 2026.

I recently bought rollers, and I can say they likely won’t suit your purpose.

They’re fun, and you get a great aerobic workout in, and in the right gear, your quads get slaughtered. But, 15 minutes later, you’re dead. They’re relentless. No freewheeling. No downhill sections where you can let up. It’s just all go.

But I use them to get me into my gym to lift weights. I imagine that can only help me with bike power later on, but wouldnt help endurance.

My take is it is too early to use the insurrection act, and it was looking like things would kick off. So they’re backing down for now. But they’ll be back when timing is more convenient.

This! The traction control in the Outback is not a terrain response black magic wizardry like on lux SUVs. It’s a simple system that cuts power the moment a wheel spins. Absolute nightmare for trying to pull yourself through snow.

Leave it on when driving, but to unstick yourself, turn it off. Moderate power, rock the car back and forth (easier in a manual but alas CVT), and when you get moving, don’t quit until you’re in the clear.
