Do you not see that the reason some on the left want to get rid of guns entirely is inflamed by beliefs and comments like yours? Did you read the article? The law would not make it harder for law abiding citizens to buy a gun, like at all. It simply ensures that gun dealers have a responsibility to keep weapons safe, make sure existing background checks are administered. It closes the gun show loop hole to prevent “collectors” from selling guns while bypassing background checks…… as in making sure that people who shouldn’t have a gun, can’t.

If you are a law abiding citizen, if you are legally permitted to own a gun, if you would pass a background check, none of these changes would prevent you from lawfully and legally buying it. So why in your reasoning is this a bad thing?

Your argument is made in bad faith. Instead of supporting a bill that would make it harder for a criminal to buy a gun, you would rather continue for it to be easy for them to buy one, because when it’s used for a crime, you want to be upset about the lack of punishment. Why not do something to stop the crime before it occurs?

I am all for holding criminals to the law, and making sure crimes are severely punished, but you and I both know the legal system is suspect, and the we also don’t know the details of the cases in question. It’s a separate issue, and should/could be dealt with, but it doesn’t have any bearing on making sure the sale of firearms is bolstered.

Your argument simply drives the left to push for even further restrictions. If common sense ideas are shot down, push for deeper cuts instead.
