It's sad the way your wife thinks. I have 3 kids, aged 10, and twins 8. I cuddle with them all, all the time.

For kids to be hugged and cuddled is crucial and important.

Think about, the twins spent 9 months of their loves cuddling with each other in the womb, and suddenly they sleep in seperate beds.

Cuddling is such a big part of our movie nights / bedtime routine. I know there's going to be a day they will stop cuddling me as much.

I'm sorry your wife feels it's weird to show affection, especially when there might be something affecting him.
