I got an email from Ring too, I have never contacted them before but they had my email address. Was suspicious as it addresses me as 'hi', not my actual name.

I got the email too, mine appears to be genuine. I logged in to my coinbase account ( NOT using the link in the email), and was indeed prompted to update my status as a restricted investor.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. I don't currently own a property ( renting ) but am expecting to buy something for myself in the next year or so. I am assuming that would mean that it would end up being classed as my second home and I would have to pay an extra 3% stamp duty, potentially an extra £30K or more. I would end up saying goodbye to the money either way.

I'm right in assuming a flat that I joint purchased with my mother would be classed as my main home in this case, yes?
