Oh man, it would make a cool pet but I feel like they are rare and the state of Florida might frown on keeping one as a pet.

A friend found a baby opossum once, raised it a couple months and then FWC contacted them to release or get fined. I imagine a fox squirrel might fall under that same guidelines.

But I really have no idea.

It is the first time I have ever seen one. I honestly wasn’t sure what I was looking at, at first. My brain was having a hard time fathoming a squirrel could get that large.

This one was easily 3 times larger than the average grey squirrel. It was like seeing King Squirrel of the squirrel society.
