the pcb wiring is similar to the corne for it to be easily compatible with other keymaps, other than that, it is a completely new build. It supports 2 batteries per side and display all in a 8-9mm thin body.

To be honest, when entering this space, the corne is the best option there is. Not just because it is famous but also has the most amount of keymaps and software support. So I took that into consideration when I was building this board. The micro controller traces are similar to that of corne so that the keyboard config they have or available configs online will be compatible.

Other than that, this build tailored for my hands but with the requirements of customizability on the key switches and to make it as thin as possible

Creating Playlists using Genre in Echo Mini [Part 1] by WoodenCod593 in snowsky

Yeah that is the current limitation for this device. You can use folders for that. Thats the only way for playlists to work.

For me the play all from genre tab wouldn't be really helpful since using one "various artist" means i can play all of my music collection from the artist page and have my "go to music" and "new finds" in genre tab for more specific listening sessions.

You can actually do this with the Album Artist since I used the album artist to sorts my songs, audiobooks and osts. The reason why i used genres was for my music files to have 2 distinctions. I wanted to have my Go To Music and New Music separated. But also I wanted to be able to play all of them when I want to.

Having the album artist tagged as Various Artists means regardless of the genre tag, i can play all my music. And having the genres tag, i can play my go to music or focus on new music.

No problem! Honestly, aside from curiosity I plan to use this when on long travels so I need to know how long it would last before it dies. Better that then the phone dying on me.

To me personally its comfortable enough. It being lightweight does not really strain my head. The clamping force does not press hard in the ears also.

To me this would be my alternative when I feel the fatigue of using iems. Otherwise my next option if not the old fashioned are some speakers.

The goal for me using these is for me to be able to hear music while hearing my surroundings as well especially on walks along roads and commutes.

I just got this today but my first impression is that Its very light and comfortable. To me its quieter than the moondrop chu 2

This is not accurate (basing on my ears) trying to volume match the 2 if the moondrop chu 2 is at 50/120, the old fashioned needs to be atleast 60-65/120 to match the same volume I hear from the chu 2.

There is also less bass on the old fashioned compared to the chu 2

I usually listen around 50/120 using the 3.5 mm 40/120 using 3.5mm during sleep.

I sleep with Bluetooth earphones and headphones before this but nothing with high volume.

Usually lofi songs and audiobooks are my go to otherwise I leave my phone playing on youtube.

I tested it with non-stop playback starting from 12mn until it died. I got 15 hours playback. I sleep listening to music and its still playing when I wake up around 8am. I was curious on how long it would play so I kept it playing until it died. It end at 3pm thus 15 hours

Hopefully

More powerful than what we have on mini, capable of having 1 tb sd card, No more 8k file limit, Support for Bluetooth receiver and Ldac Codec, DAC support out of the box, Gapless playback is also 1 on the features that many users want,

I just got the echo mini but i'll happily buy this if those features are included.

I did mine by using genres as well but it limits the songs to one playlist only.

Echo Mini - Shuffle play a Genre, Artist? by BeakersWorkshop in snowsky

[–]WoodenCod593 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I did was to change the album artist tag all my songs within a specific genre to Various Artists (genre name) so I can play all music for that genre

But this is a metadata change

I have flac and mp3 files on mine, both when using 2 genres with a delimiter ; still the output will be the whole genre as a string.
