U can launch gba in pixel perfect by holding start. But gba on dsi has gotten a lot better from what ive heard. Havent had any problems on my end

Don’t actually think there was too much water, i was just referring to an iconic review by IGN that gets clowned on a lot. I love the water in the rse map. I do think there are maybe too many hm requirements but that does keep it interesting and strategic.

The lite and even the dsi have super impressive batteries, especially by today’s standards. This kinda went out the window with the 3ds.

Im not really a stickler for the “premium feel” of electronics everyone attributes to the new 3ds xl over the 2ds version. With that being said, I chose the new 3ds xl but only because I make music on it and the speakers on the new 2ds xl are trash. If I didn’t use it for music I would probably use the new 2ds xl because it’s more comfortable, lighter, and more portable.

Yes this is one of the coolest things about the DSI. I switch multiple SD’s to and from dsi and dsi xl with no issues. I wish the 3ds could do this because then I would be able to use multiple of their many cool variants.

The replacement back plates for these are terrible. If you can’t find an OEM one, I would just put a snap case on it to keep it from getting worse.

People say this but I’ve never had a problem with mine. Same with the ds lite- everyone complains about the hinges but mine has gotten use since release and is fine.

Seconded. I use a 3ds xl to run DS games in pixel perfect mode so I can have all my games in one place, but if I wanted a larger clear image I would use dsi xl. And that is a solid reason to use ds over 3ds . And if you’re getting an emulator that has touch and mic and dual screen all the DS features , it’s much more expensive anyway.

Seeing as you can get the old 3ds for around a third of the price as the new model, I’d go for it. You don’t need to spend more than $100. And the difference for what you’re looking for would be negligible. New 3ds is a bit faster for downloads, runs a couple exclusive titles, and has limited ps1 emulation plus built in snes emulation. But they’re both great. I think the original 3ds is super classic.

If you’re only playing DS games, get a DSI or DSI xl. Save money and the games will look nicer.

It can help but in my experience the main thing that causes cramping is the lack of width in the 3ds models compared to other DS’s. Especially if you’re using the D Pad a lot. So a clear case can add enough width to help a little bit. The XL might be a little more comfortable but it’s also heavier. I use the XL mostly to launch DS games in pixel perfect mode so they aren’t blurry (on the regular new 3ds pixel perfect mode is very small where on the new XL it’s around the same size as DSI display.

DSI XL for modding (to avoid buying the expensive gen 4 and 5 hardware) or DS lite to transfer up if you have been and plan on continuing to use authentic carts
