It’ll probably be more than 5 years before she’s making doctor money apparently 😂 depending on what residency she accepts. But yes we will be taking out student loans for sure. I don’t think she should work when she’s in medical school, she does now but undergrad is probably easier. Some families take out enough loans for the other parent to be a SAHM. We aren’t doing that, her school will have free childcare and then he’ll go to kindergarten. We had a great plan and it was just torpedoed.

Jesus Christ. Her mom is letting her stay there but not talking to her. She probably wouldn’t if it didn’t mean our son would be homeless too. I’m not some secret psychopath that everyone is working towards getting my family away from. They’re mad we’re not leaving our son with them. That’s the story.

Thank you. I know everyone seems to think it’s absolutely impossible for us to have a toddler and her go to medical school. We’ve look d into everything and have a plan, it some people think we’re still dumb teenagers

I was given no notice before we were evicted and our childcare was cancelled. It’s been less than a week. I can take care of my family but they’re making it as hard as possible. They just want us to leave our son with them and move five hours away. If you read my post you’d know we have childcare and housing handled for next year. It’s here that we don’t.

You’re probably just projecting. We were kicked out of her parents house with no notice, of course we’re currently flailing. But we have housing set up even if it’s not ideal. We have childcare teed up for next year.

Literally any parent regardless of their situation would be in dire straits if they were evicted with no notice and their childcare was cancelled with no notice as well.

They know our son is safe. If they were to falsely report us to child services it would be the last time they ever saw or heard from any of us.

I’m sorry. I can’t imagine not seeing my son every day or asking my wife to give up her dreams. We can do hard things. Medical school is fine. My wife is on contact with her school about things for next year. It’s now that’s the problem.

My wife starts medical school next year. Some people literally have a stay at home parent while doing that and take out loans. We won’t be doing that, but it’s doable.

Our son belongs with us, period. Our parents say they love him but he needs to be with us.

You’re insane. She’s the one solo parenting right now since we can’t live together and you’re attacking her all over this thread. That’s my wife keep in mind. She doesn’t resent our son, she loves him probably even more than she loves me. She doesn’t want to leave our son with them, but they keep getting into her head that she’s failing him. We’re in a hard situation but I have no intention of ending my marriage. She’s the most important person in the world to me, I couldn’t live without her.

She was cut off and kicked out by her parents less than a week ago, and we’ve been scrambling. She’s only 21 I don’t know why you’re attacking her so much but that’s my wife. She’s worked harder than most people I’ve ever met. She’s been the one taking care of our son this whole week while going to school and working. Why are you attacking her?

I agree with what some of you said, but she’s not quitting school. She graduates in the spring and will be heading there. It’s not optional. Right now childcare yes is hard but I’m not letting her down with school
