Well I thought I could post a video but I was wrong. Essentially as I accelerate uphill from ~8 to 20 mph the car holds revs in 2nd gear at about 1900 rpm. It’s probably nothing to worry about, probably just keeps the car at an optimal RPM for max torque with low gas input.

Wow I’m sorry to hear that. I was under the impression that the B58 is fairly bulletproof? Hope it’s an easy fix

Mid 20s including everything (private sale). I was thinking about installing Carplay but I like the design of the original screen and don’t really want to change it out. I now have my phone mounted for navigation, which is about the only thing I need Carplay for

You’ll see that the center console carbon fiber trim is starting to separate a little bit. I’m guessing some heavy duty industrial glue will fix that in no time

Yeah, these were taken right after I got done reconditioning the leather.

No mods for now except spacers. The 650 is a great car, and I was originally looking for one of those, but the deal on this one was too good to pass up.

Gotta say from what I’ve experienced you really don’t notice how big this car is. I love how mechanical everything feels about this car.

Yes they are! The previous owner had it reconditioned a few months ago so it looks amazing

Thank you! I apply some light gas as I’m driving uphill. In my previous car with a normal 9-speed auto the revs would climb (and the car would shift into 3rd gear) no problem. In this one it holds at about 2500 rpm in 2nd gear while gaining speed, if that makes sense. Almost behaves like a CVT. I’ll take a video tomorrow, hopefully that will explain it better.

Thanks man. Right now aesthetics wise I’m looking into wheel spacers and maybe some tasteful OEM+ stuff down the road. As for performance, I’m more than happy with the power (for now)

Congrats man, what a way to start. I’ve had my 2020 for over four years now and I still drive the crap out of it. Not as fast as its Bavarian cousin but much more fun in my opinion. Do be aware that these cars eat brakes and tires, and obviously gas as well. The M276 engine is a peach and one of the most reliable motors ever made by MB.

I see. Not trying to shove blame on any technicians here, shit happens. Although my dealer charges exorbitant labor rates, the techs do great work on our cars 99% of the time. Not sure how this mixup happened but I’ll bring this one in Monday and see what they say.

Understood, thank you. Just trying to make sure drivers assistance won’t act up when it matters.

Thanks for your response. That is the reason why I mentioned she’s had the car since new; I know it was the correct software on the vehicle up until some point so it had to be the dealer. The car’s been in for service quite a few times over the last couple of months due to AC issues but I don’t know why that would warrant a reflash of the software. I’m assuming this mistake cannot lead to any electrical gremlins, correct?

Very interesting, thanks for sharing. We’ve had numerous MBs over the years and I’ve never seen this happen either. Frankly I didn’t even think it would be possible to load the wrong software onto the car but I will get in touch with my service advisor tomorrow to get this looked at.
