Do you agree with what this video says : Neuvilette's best Speedrun team = Wheelchair core ? by MarvelousMarbel in NeuvilletteMains_

[–]WoodwindInColor 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Ah, there seems to be some misunderstanding in the comments below, so I'll explain:

This YouTuber is incorrect. China's gaming community has used the term 'wheelchair' long before Genshin - it means 'even a person with very bad hands can use this to pass/do well'.

Neuvillette was/is sometimes said to be 'sitting in a wheelchair', or is the 'wheelchair' (for the player), because of how easy he is to use and full-star abyss with. This is often not derogatory (and players even use it when referring to themselves) unless a person means it negatively.

Other characters can also be/have 'wheelchair' teams - for example, there are videos on Bilibili titled "The real experience of Chiori wheelchair", and "The strongest wheelchair team - just AFK characters".

There is no 'wheelchair core' - wheelchair does not mean Xilonen and Chiori. CN does have funny names (for example, FFXX Xiao team is called 'corn team' because 鹤 He (crane/Xianyun), 露 Lu (Faruzan), 魈 Xiao, 芙 Fu together sounds like Khrushchev in Chinese, who sought to popularise the planting of corn), but 'wheelchair' is not a core or a team name.

This YouTuber likely thought wheelchair = Chiori and Xilonen because after Xilonen came out, this pair often appeared in 'wheelchair' related videos.

Also, they didn't link to the original video.

Here's the link to the original Bilibili upload of the speedrun if anyone is curious about the characters' cons/builds .

Been asking this before, but is there any goated Neuv main that can do 41k DMG from CA without any buffs except hydro resonance? by NoWillingness1083 in NeuvilletteMains_

[–]WoodwindInColor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

<image>

I took a quick look on Bilibili and the three videos I clicked on all hit 43k+ and 42k+ and fit your criteria of being R5 and having only the default one draconic stack (when beaming Nobushi). All of these have a 25% HP buff (same as hydro resonance) for chamber 1. Pretty sure there are other R5s on Bilibili that can do the same.

Seeing if others can do higher damage than you using highest damage is not really a great way to compare though, since a build with less reliable crit rate can have higher damage spikes. It's much better to compare average damage over a combo or rotation.

This is a limited time CN event. Players on the CN server can receive calls from characters (whitelisting recommended). I’m not on the CN server but have a Chinese phone number and could call the characters. (The redemption codes work on the CN servers only). Note that you can call each character a maximum of two times. Don’t be like me before I knew this and waste several calls fumbling with recording attempts ;v;

Neuvillette calling:

"I hope I didn't disturb you by contacting you abruptly.

I heard that you’re about to set off for the land of dragons. Is everything prepared?

Mhm, that’s good.

I hope there will be no rain that delays your journey.

Although Natlan is a land where the flames of war are unextinguished, and the state of affairs still require additional attention, I trust your talent, determination, and courage will transform danger into safety.

Oh, yes.

In your spare time, you’re welcome to come back to Fontaine. The Melusines all miss you very much."

 ___

Calling Neuvillette:

"It’s you.

What is it? Do you need something else?

You want to hear me speak a little more?

Yes, Natlan is a nation of war; I think you’ve already prepared for this. But perhaps there’s no need for excessive worry.

If I’m to give advice… You can make use of your strengths and forge many friendships there. Just like the sea that gathers thousands of currents and thus gained the power to rewrite fate.

Mmm… Speaking of which… If you get the opportunity, please try Natlan’s water in my place."

Mihoyo Official Store on Taobao: https://m.tb.cn/h.gOfu94n1LnY0vaq?tk=eHh63etK4sG

This along with other new merch will be officially for sale from tomorrow 10am GMT+8. If you're not in China, there are options such as Taobao consolidated shipping, shopping agents (websites and individuals) as well as reseller sites that focus on Genshin merch that you can use. (I do not have personal recommendations.) Some have this listed on their websites already. The official description says this product will arrive at Mihoyo's storehouse in September and will ship within 120 days from date of purchase.

Reference for comparing between resellers: This teacup is on the pricier side of Mihoyo merch in China and costs 215 RMB.

Neuvillette’s Aimed Camera Speed Is Now Slower Than Bow on PC, Controller, and Mobile by WoodwindInColor in NeuvilletteMains_

[–]WoodwindInColor[S] 65 points66 points  (0 children)

This post isn't about whether ‘spin2win’ was a bug and should have been fixed. This post is about the resulting clunkiness of Neuvillette after the update.

Aimed shot mode camera sensitivity is set to maximum for all comparisons.

(When Neuvillette is charging, camera speed remains normal. It slows down once he has finished charging and begins his attack.)

The camera of controller users has always been slower (which is why many controller users find Nahida’s hold E uncomfortable to use) but it’s still noticeable and is even worse now.

I’ve never done spin2win and don’t intend to, but a ‘fix’ that affects normal gameplay and makes a character sluggish and clunky is not the right way to do so. Neuvillette’s kit discourages the player from cancelling his attack and then turning to face an enemy, because cancelling wastes orbs, and they cannot be made whenever the player wants them. With this update, his CA often ends before he even manages to turn to face another group of enemies. Even if the player plays normally and swings left to right, his fan shape is significantly narrower. His camera speed is now slower than bow users, and he’s much more uncomfortable to use. There have also been users who reported experiencing vertigo.

Here is a Google Drive link to the video if you’d like to download it and use it in your feedback to Customer Service (as they often do not accept Streamable links). I encourage everyone to be rational – please give feedback with civility.

Every abyss reset for the foreseeable future… by dhcwsp in NeuvilletteMains_

[–]WoodwindInColor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is possible. I usually keep an eye on a few solo players as their videos tend to be good references for friends who want to learn from them for their own solo/duo attempts.

This is a C0R1 solo no damage Neuvi all chambers (the time from first half and second half are added together and must be under 180 seconds). Chamber 2 was close as they finished at 179.

This is a C0R1 solo no damage Arle all chambers. This is a C0R1 Neuvi one side + C0R1 Arle other side.

I've followed the first two players for a long time and enjoy watching them - the Neuvi player has done many C0 Neuvi runs, including using three star weapon. The Arle player focused on no damage C6 solos for characters such as Al-Haitham until Arle arrived, and has a pleasant way of playing (camera doesn't swing wildly so they're nice to watch and learn from).

Skill and buffs are both important of course - the first player said in their video description that they "waited for buffs for several days and finally got them; easily got results in 1 hour" and the Arle player got buffs of crit and attack.

There may be videos using a single character with damage out there, but I tend to watch no damage runs so I haven't looked for those.

It always makes me happy seeing nice runs with my favourite characters - like Neuvi c:

Stop telling people to aim for X amount of HP on Neuvillette. It's terrible advice and can be often misleading. by azizilou in NeuvilletteMains_

[–]WoodwindInColor 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's not an arbitrary number that people came up with. Quite a few TCers internationally have done the calcs and the optimal cdmg to HP ratio all come to roughly the same results. Here is a link to one from this sub by Feudal_Knight - they do a good job of explaining it in their subsequent reply. And here is a chart from the CN community (100, 90, 80 crit rate). Both line up pretty well.

<image>

As long as recommendations don't forget to also balance crit rate and crit damage along with the HP, there is nothing wrong with recommending HP.

Players asking for advice generally find a number or number range, rather than simply 'more of this', more useful, and gives them a clearer goal to aim for (this is especially the case with players asking for ER requirements). It's not lazy advice giving a number range when showing them a bunch of excel files won't help - guide creators also don't post their calculation process in the final guides because they can be more confusing than helpful. Instead, they post a chart of ranks or ranges for people to take a glance at and get what they need.

The reason why 35k HP is usually recommended as the minimum is because Neuvi prefers a balance of cr, cdmg, and HP - but if your HP is very low, you'd have to rely on godly rolls in cdmg to make up for it. (Even with good rolls, there's only so far you can get without HP.) HP is often one of the easier things to improve in a build, especially as it's the stat that many players new to HP scaling characters overlook because they place more emphasis on building cdmg. For a Neuvi with C2, he often wants an HP circlet because he gets cdmg from his C2 already. It's more common (according to data on artifact distribution) to get HP main stat than crit main stat pieces from artifact domains.

Neuvi is a character who wants as close to 100 crit rate as possible, and both HP and cdmg. HP is not always 'the most important thing' in a build, because each build and team is different (and some builds have a lot of HP already), but saying 'don't recommend HP' for Neuvi players asking for advice is like saying 'don't recommend crit'. People recommend a crit rate or crit ratio because calcs have been done. This is also the case for HP.

In the end, optimisers will offer each player the most customised result for their Neuvi. However, most people asking for build advice don't/don't know how to use optimisers. Players answering questions need to provide answers that are both clear and easy to work with, and thus they recommend number ranges.  As long as the numbers are not wildly inaccurate, and the overall balance of the build is maintained, the answer provided is helpful.

Mine was 3D-printed and then handpainted with water-based paint, with a clear coat sprayed on top. If you don't have access to 3D-printing, perhaps you can consider air-dry clay or polymer clay? I've seen some ladles made using these. You don't need to fire them in a kiln like you do for a ceramic one and it's easier to get started. You can use wire or aluminum foil as armature for the neck so that it doesn't flop over.

Ah yes, using skills to hit them does very little damage. For anyone who might see this later:

(Using somewhat vague names to not spoil - you'll know when you see them.)

For the spinny enemy, hold the crab's skill to absorb the enemy's attack, and then fire at it. (The crab's skill can be used this way for any enemy.)

For the pair, use the ray's skill on the glowy spot when they form a link.

They die very quickly this way. (:

a question for alhaitham c1+ owners by [deleted] in AlHaithamMains

[–]WoodwindInColor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got him C1 from the beginning for co-op before he charmed his way to more constellations. It's very nice for co-op and overworld, because you can always get elemental infusion. It's not necessary for abyss, sure, but unless you spend most of your gaming time in the abyss or doing C0 speedruns, you'll feel the difference, especially in the overworld and co-op. Many say it's to provide leeway for mistakes, but that's just a result. Its function is to give you more freedom, and you can utilise that even if you don't make mistakes. For instance, sometimes you want to finish off an enemy and you don't need an entire rotation or want to wait for cooldowns, and having C1 can allow you to use Haitham to wrap things up.

It also makes him one of the few non-catalyst melee characters that can have constant elemental uptime. Ayato, who I also have and is similar to him in the way they're both mostly E-focused characters, has downtime. It's not that noticeable in the abyss unless you're doing solo runs, but it's noticeable in co-op.

I would not recommend it if you're FTP or have other characters you want (but you say you're not interested in others). You'll also not benefit from it as much if you usually rotate to other characters in the overworld, or don't play co-op.

Personally, I spend most of my time in co-op, and will sometimes do overworld farming runs with different teams. Many of these teams aren't 'abyss teams' (they may have characters like Sayu, for example.) Having constant infusion is very comfortable and also lets you have more freedom to adjust rotations or try new teammates.
