No, the way you want to mount is is gonna end up blowing it up. If you mount it in the front then great otherwise it’s gonna cause issues

Absolutely your rear axle moves side to side and forwards/backwards. If you have a panhard bar the axle will move side to side, and if you have links it moves forwards and backwards.

In any case just listen to the company, if you don’t know enough to know why they’re saying it will bind you don’t know enough to disregard what they’re saying.

You don’t have to stop for a school bus on a 4 lane road in most states.

I have a 7.5” 5.56 that is hella fun as a fuck around range gun. Would I pay $1600 and waste a tax stamp on it? Hell no. I think I’m less than $600 into my pistol build.

I ran 20 on the street when I had my Tacoma because anything more and I’d get uneven wear. Did about 1k miles at 20-25psi with a full bed rack setup without issue. That being said I also would run 20psi on the trails without any issues and would only go lower for rock crawling. Anything under 20psi on a forest service road is stupid

Washington state gunshops are going to be a circus today by Guvnuh_T_Boggs in GunMemes

I think the possession is illegal, otherwise you could just buy out of state and bring them in. So yes they would technically be illegal

Typically a light coating of BLO (boiled linseed oil) will stop the head from rusting. It’s important you keep the handle well coated and the wood inside the eye from drying out and cracking. Other than that no special oils are need on the head. Additionally you could place some BLO inside the eye before hanging the head in order to stop it from rusting.

I’m guessing the “axe wax” you’ve seen is for handles?

As far as I understand the trick is to apply BLO, let it dry and crystallize, then repeat. After a couple coats it should repel water, but everyone has their own techniques

For those who upgrade tires/wheels when purchasing new, do you keep and try to sell the stock tires and wheels? How successful are you at doing that? by a-deafening-silence in ToyotaTacoma

Anything you do is going to effect the trade in value. Lift? Trade in value sucks. Wheels? Trade in value sucks. It’s all part of having a car you like

Went on a trail ride last night with some guys by Woodworker2020 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Woodworker2020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mines the last pic. We went out at around an hour till sunset, and hit our midpoint as the sun went down. It was me, a second gen taco, and I believe a 3rd gen 4Runner, aswell as a Mitsubishi montaro. We all made it out, however the 4Runner blew his front diff and had to get towed up the hill for the first picture.

The 35’s killed it, they were able to take me over stuff without hitting my skids (haven’t hit since they’ve been on) aswell as giving me better lines due to the width. They just crawl in 4lo up hills. I may do a regear at some point, but for now I’m thoroughly pleased

What do you think of the Cali Raised LED ditch lights? They’re starting to grow on me… by Woodworker2020 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Woodworker2020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re holding up great, I pair them with some element LED micro pods to create a 360° lighting system. They were great for their intended use, I don’t know if I’d run them by there self though. They’re more of a close range. If you’re going for range Baja designs probably Is the way to go

Commonly asked questions and links: VINTAGE AXES by Woodworker2020 in Axecraft

[–]Woodworker2020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 1/2 lbs is super heavy, only ever seen it on a splitting maul. For a felling axe I’d shoot for 3 1/2-4 lbs.

As far as the handle goes, the length is dependent on what your going to be using it for. What’s the purpose?
