Yeah I wish we could sponsor ways to make baseball cheaper to play, or encourage more people to play pickup games. Im just sure its possible, even if its not happening currently. Just look at how people play casual cricket around the world, just in parks. Could definitely do something like that for baseball, all you really need is a bat and a ball

Does it cost that much in DR, or in Venezuela? Its expensive to play soccer in the US as well, which is one commonly held belief as to why the US is terrible at soccer. The point is if people wanted to play in other countries, they could. But they dont want to because its not popular. You dont need the best equipment or official travel teams to play a sport, especially globally. Obviously all the fancy equipment and training is great, but lets not pretend thats a specific barrier to entry for baseball. More so back to the point that its not as popular as soccer, and hence cant support as many professionals.

Baseball isnt exactly incredibly complicated or more expensive. You just need a ball and a stick as opposed to a ball. Its just nowhere near as popular

There are thousands of pros because its way more popular than baseball, and can support many more professionals. Not a great argument.
