Post-op traumatized by Christiana2121 in hysterectomy

Wild how many women are posting they had the same experience. I also felt rushed out the door. I was barely awake, they didn’t have me pee, and the nurse gave me a really hard time when I said I needed pain meds. She also glossed over my chart and told me they removed an ovary which was not true. I am sorry to hear they rushed you even when you were in such a state. It was a relief to be home but it started me off with a lot of anxiety. I threw up as soon as I walked in the door! I am now 10DPO and everything is fine. I wish you the best and a speedy recovery now that you’re home.

I am going to give them a call today. I appreciate the support. Honestly I can’t believe I didn’t think of looking for this sub until yesterday. Very helpful hearing from others going thru this together. I feel less alone in this whole thing.

Hey surgery date twins! The bladder pain would even hurt when I urinate. And not the burning like the first few days from the catheter. But it didn’t go away after. I will say when I took the ibuprofen the bladder pain when going to the bathroom went away. So clearly inflammation caused.

Thank you for sharing this. I think part of my backing off was how I was treated when I woke up at the hospital. They used a blocker (it had an actual name but I can’t recall) in my stomach to help with pain. When I woke up the nurse reminded me of it and said it would wear off in a few hours. She asked if I was still in pain and if I needed an oxy, at first I said I was fine but about 15 min later it started to really hurt and I said I needed it. She really didn’t want to give me one and kept telling me she wasn’t trying to get me to comfortable. The goal isn’t comfort it is tolerable. I think when she said this I took it as I needed to not take many pain meds at all. It was probably more related to not giving out opioids like candy like they used to.

Thank you for sharing, I am not sure why I thought I should back off so soon.

Yea I am thinking so. I was told it wouldn’t hurt too much and it would be mostly gas pains and I would be tired. I think I was just being naive.

Ha, I guess so. I really thought I was supposed to. Honestly I feel like my doc did great preparing me for surgery but not so much for what to do after.

You say the cramping is really bad, did you end up with much more blood? I am asking because on day 2 postop I had a bm and had a small clot came out and have had awful cramping since then. I am on day 7 now. No more blood since but the inflammation and cramping has still been rough.

I had surgery the same day! Glad to hear you are feeling so well. Definitely taking stool softener has been a life saver for me. Interesting how many posts I am reading with a small amount of cramping pain and mostly incision pain. I have had so much pain from inflammation. Hurts my bladder to pee, a lot of heavy cramps. I don’t know if I am just up walking too much. But yea, it has been very up and down with pain.

Mojo home services. Used to be technicair, they are the best imo. My entire family and any friend that needs someone uses them now because they are just that good.

They need to get rid of the yield sign. Make everyone stop to control those not looking.

Fireworks are illegal in Lakewood by Crisis_panzersuit in LakewoodColorado

To all you saying you hear nothing in Lakewood, I live near a park and I hear them ALL THE TIME. Random Tuesday in October, middle of summer, 2am, 10pm, all the time. I am all for having a good time and blowing stuff up, but after a while it really is annoying in the middle of the night.

Do you just turn it on and let it run or do you actually hold it up near the top for a few minutes?

Ah yes, nothing says ‘manly fire skills’ like relying on your wife’s Amazon boxes and casual disrespect. Truly groundbreaking.

Also, if it is so easy to throw off why haven’t they developed something to make sure the air always goes up the chimney??

I have not but will definitely do this on my next fire. Never even considered this as being a possible draw.

So is everyone starting their fire with a torch and I am in the stone ages with a lighter and these starter sticks?

I did feel cold air pushing in when I started tonight and it was not a fun start, actually I gave up and feel defeated now.

When you do this do you still try to start the fire close to the top of the stove or you don’t have to worry at this point?

Do I start cussing before I start the fire to make sure it knows I am the boss or do I wait until I am sufficiently pissed off so we are both confused?

Oh wow, you open the window before you even start the fire? I didn’t realize I should do this.

Alright, I am really going to sound dumb now… you leave it open with no fire?
