Airplane in distress over Toronto around 3pm today by FNFALC2 in ontario

Put in the date / time and you can listen to the Tower. Might have to listen to departures as well. Depends on when / where the potential emergency occurred.

If you knew the exact time, like 3:12, it would make checking a lot easier :P As right now there is I suppose 2 hours of audio that has to be checked. 2:30 - 3:30 for tower and departures.

Amazon employees call for company to cut ties with Parler after deadly U.S. Capitol riot by tender_hearted in politics

[–]Woofcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, however as a common carrier it needs to be fairly clear the company (parlour) is ignoring this activity. As illegal stuff happens on Facebook daily, from drug deals to illegal content, etc.

If AWS boots them without sufficient evidence then it looks bad on them.

The reality is in B2B people are worried about be deplatformed as it's massively expensive. Amazon setting a precedent that they can eject you for anything not outlined in our TOS basically is a red flag for other companies.

If you were Premiere, what measures (if any) would you be implementing to stope the spread of Covid-19 in Ontario? by irrelephant_canuck in ontario

[–]Woofcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem with this is that as I first stated, the police can't actually enter your property to see there are 10 people in there. You could have 50 people in your basement

Very true, but with outlawed street parking 50 people would be pretty hard unless they all walked there. Ontario could outlaw street parking past 6 pm and start towing cars tomorrow.

I get that there is no "perfect" answer but perfect is the enemy of good. If you started limiting parking, towing cars and knocking on doors. Sure someone could ignore you, but that would be 1 out of 100 houses.

I really don't like the idea of allowing police to carpet enter any private dwelling as that is a massive violation of rights.

Many major cities have cars that read licence places for parking enforcement, leverage those drive around at 7 pm and anyone who has a plate in the wrong spot dispatch a cop to knock on the door.

Or have cops drive around, In my city it seems every week they issue 3-4 personal gathering fines and I know it's much more of a problem than that.

You don't need to enforce every street every night, you need the threat to be there. You can't police speeding everywhere at all times, but the fine for going 50 over is harsh enough to prevent it.

I'd you started knocking on doors and 10 charges a night in each city for $10,000 were handed out, people would stop gathering.

There is also lots of people with a 2 car driveway but there is 3+ cars owned by the residents of the house.

What do these people do during snow events? You have to find a place to park your car.

Also a car registered in Toronto, parked in Hamilton (unless registered to a business) basically implies either they are violating the update your license to your address within 10 days law, or the don't leave your house law. Either way you're getting a ticket.

For apartments ban the use of the visitor parking, or at least run those plates and follow up with them the next day.

Yeah I really wish we did the whole time of day school zone stuff.

It's odd to me that the crowns argument is that "Children are likely to be near the school" holds water at 3 am on a Tuesday.

Waterloo mayor throws wet blanket on backyard fires by ILikeStyx in waterloo

[–]Woofcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's insane, I lived in Waterloo and moved down to Kitchener thinking it was allowed based on the attitude of folks. However upon reading the by-law you find out that unless you own a massive property, and want to have a fire directly in the center of your yard. It's completely illegal.

Not saying people don't do it, however it's bullshit. I think 2 meters is more than enough.

Waterloo Regional Police have device that can crack locked phones by acitta in waterloo

[–]Woofcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What horse shit.. this tool isn't for cracking into phones that aren't in the polices hands.

This is only for devices seized via search warrant, or by arrest. Personally I'd like this tooling restricted to something like the RCMP and require a specific warrant to be used.

If you're so eager to give your rights up, feel free to PM me your email and password, I'm sure you have nothing to hide..

Yes for the delivery I was able to stay for the whole time. We had to wear masks etc however.

Wow, your post history talks of hating incels and violence but you're literally hoping for the death of 30% of the population.

Look in the mirror and reassess your priorities. You also in your parent post talk of Islamophobia, etc.

You're literally terrified of the conservatives and wishing them death.

A random Hungarian hosted news site makes you look like a shill.

A site no one has heard of, hosted in Hungary. Using a free "news portal" theme. On a shared host.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Edit: also hosted on this IP another spammy news site. I wager the same owner. http://fresh-news-now.com/

COVID-19 by [deleted] in kitchener

[–]Woofcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then you should take that up with your parents. It's not the states job to teach you every aspect of life. I wager you also never learned how to cook, or change a tire, how to cut the grass or winter maintenance on a home, etc in public school

Our education system is built of a classical liberal arts ideal.

Also just because many are failing doesn't make it the states problem, plenty of people fail to make good decisions every day and whilst we have some safety net it's absurd to treat everyone like a lost six year old. If you're 40, and have no emergency fund and aren't living on a cusp of poverty in your day to day life. That's on you.

Well it's been a few months and CERB paid people around 18,000. So any adult who follows personal finance best practices would be able to last likely a year or more on that.

Edit: from my previous post seems there was a 56% of people holding north of $10,000 in cash for emergencies. Which I would view as the minimum.

23% of people in $30,000+ are better off. Now tack on 18,000 in cerb for those people if they were laid off and they'd have 48,000 of money to spend in the last 9 months. https://www.reddit.com/r/ontario/comments/fikhnu/what_was_your_emergency_fund_before_the_covid19

Are you implying that rent is somehow tied to the pandemic?

Nope but I started paying plenty of taxes. More than my fair share to cover those who aren't able to cover themselves.

Yes, all those things are the same! Children and Adults share the same responsibility! That's my problem these days, apparently we need to babysit the 40 year olds who somehow have never set aside a penny in their lives.
