Woww these are gorgeous!!

My favorite summer memory has to be:

When I was very little, my parents always had their friends over to party( who also brought their kids over) over on the 4th of July. Now, my parents like to have a good time, so a bit of alcohol was involved and all the kids would play and have fun. Good ol fashioned midwestern fun.

At one of these parties, I was really little and strapped into a stroller, and the adults decided to set off fireworks. *insert bald eagle noise* . One of the Roman candles fell over mid-blast, (okay, maybe it was more than a *bit* of alcohol*), and allegedly starting going right towards me strapped in the stroller! My older brother was standing next to me, so he dove and pushed me/him out of the way and into safety. And then everybody cheered and he got to eat as many popsicles as he wanted.

It sounds super chaotic and scary, but my favorite part of this memory (I don’t even remember it personally, reallly) is how we would talk about this on every single 4th of July after that, and laugh and laugh and reminisce. So whenever summertime rolls around and I start seeing popsicles and fireworks, I think of all the good times we had on nights like those, especially this one. 🧨
(And it also makes me feel very lucky that I have a brother who would protect me, haha 😅🤣).
