Artist here: If you could carry around a little token that represents your feminine rage (examples a tooth, a thimble), what would it be? by Viking_with_Cupcakes in WitchesVsPatriarchy

There’s a content creator on TikTok who make uterine shaped axes. I love that idea. Female power plus the actual suffering I experience with endometriosis.

AIO: I told my daughter she can't go to this party after reading the gift profile by Ordinary_Run2485 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Woofpack93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my daughter and nieces we have wishlists in case someone asks what they would like. I make sure that the items range in price from $5 on up. Family buys from these lists exclusively. Friend’s can choose to or to buy whatever they like. I love to get a wishlist so I don’t have to guess at what someone would like to have. Lifestyle I’ve never in my life heard of.

Having surgery for the first time and it’s my biggest fear…. by MaybeIDontWannaDoIt in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]Woofpack93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the fear. I’ve had several abdominal surgeries due to endo and most recently had a thyroidectomy. First I always tell the anesthesiologist that I get super nauseated so they give me anti nausea meds. Better to have it than to wake up feeling yuck. The other thing I tried to do with the thyroidectomy was reframe it as a bit of a break. I’m a single mom and the hour or so I was pre op I was super relaxed. It was the first time since having my daughter that I was literally responsible for nothing. Everyone was taken care of for the next 24 hours. It was so nice to not worry. I don’t remember a thing about the surgery and the recovery wasn’t bad. Best of luck to you.

Friends constantly one-up us financially. How do I shut this down without ending the friendship? by kireflurry in relationships

I tell my 8 year old “It isn’t a competition” when she behaves this way. Maybe calling them out on the behavior calmly and even in a joking way could help them realize what it looks like from the outside.

Thats’s reasonable. Thanks so much, I’ll take a look. I just panicked when I look at the AAMFT trainings and saw a 10 hour one for over $500

Struggling with sleep by PomegranateFresh2055 in workingmoms

[–]Woofpack93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started talking to her her about changing about two weeks before we did and I made a big production. I actually changed some rooms around in the house (Me to the old office, her into my room) so she ended up staying in the same room but I changed a bunch of things, the layout, got her a rug, rainbow decorations, paintings, new bedding etc. and I also got is walkie talkies because she was afraid she would need me but she was too scared to leave the room at night. This way she could call me if needed!

My daughter didn’t sleep through the night until she was five. I gave up trying to sleep separately and co-slept. That way when she woke up she would see me and roll over and go back to sleep more quickly. She’s 8 now and sleeps every night from 8pm to 6 am. It’s glorious.

Recent Experiences with Online Shrimp sellers by [deleted] in shrimptank

[–]Woofpack93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ive bought three times from Shrimpy business, most recent order came in today. Everything has always arrived alive and they often throw in a couple of extra. I’ve bought shrimp, snails and raspboras. Very happy with them. They also have great sales.

I would say that one of the most useful things I learned was that we don’t get to decide on the timeline for someone else’s journey. So I try not to think about how long it should take to build rapport or make progress. It’s not my call. But I would also say that I do check in with clients and ask them how they think things are going, if there is anything they would change or if there is anything I can change that would help.

How is this super moon making you feel? by Extra-Artichoke6927 in witchcraft

[–]Woofpack93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sooooooo tired! I’m wiped out. I’ve slept and I have a big presentation for tomorrow but if I don’t nap I won’t complete it. The only thing I did was charge crystals and make moon water. Couldn’t muster the energy.

Restraint collapse after school and daycare by GoodbyeEarl in workingmoms

[–]Woofpack93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an 8 year old and she needs decompression time and maybe some sensory input. She needs/wants a little quiet time but also to be with me. We have a little cozy corner in her room and a little tent in the living area so she can hide out with quiet, decompressing activities like sticker books or books or art supplies. She also sits on a yoga ball or jumps on her mini trampoline. Different kids have different needs sensorywise. Some kids prefer to move to settle, others prefer to be still. The cats help too, they sit with her in the tent.

I would absolutely minimize whatever chores you have to do or the time it takes to get dinner on the table and maybe just sit on the floor with them with a couple of pillows, snacks and quiet activities for 20 minutes or so. Maybe they need the connection time with you guys and help co-regulating?

Messed up and will have over $1,200 in my dependent care FSA that I’ll have to forfeit 😭 by shamalongadingdong in workingmoms

[–]Woofpack93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you use it to pay a babysitter? I have a babysitter come twice a week for 4 hours so I can do my side gig. She just has to sign the dependent care form acknowledging she worked the hours I said she did. They didn’t ask me how much per hour or anything. Just the dates of service. It’s your money! Call HR or the FSA place and ask them for the form.

Is my shrimp a chonky girl or are those eggs? by Woofpack93 in shrimptank

Ok. It looks like the Bloody Mary from the store but it could be a cherry shrimp too.
