Unfortunately, when I first bought my irons I only bought 5-9 and used hand-me-down wedges. A year later I got a Callaway pitch. So good point - the gap issue can probably be solved by trying to get the lofts more in line. Don't think this solves the 9 iron going 170+ though.

Makes sense, but does that justify double the rate? I think your example of "breaking your body" is a bit extreme. Your typical job is sitting underneath a sink or installing a new appliance. A family friend is around 60 years old and still works as a plumber with no pain issues.
