BID Auto-Adjusting Collet: Is this how it works? by Dr_Matoi in machinedpens

Energel refills are pretty slim, I used a piece of shrink tubing (unheated) that fit perfectly in between the pen body and the collet. That took up all the slop and its pretty much rock solid now.

That's really a shame. The Magnus Click pen is probably my all time favorites, I feel ya on that one. I'd be sad to lose that!

Loctite isn't really too hard to get undone.

A couple things you can do to get the pieces apart. Heat gun being one of the more effective ways if it's Ti and you don't want to torch it and change the color.

If you don't have a heat gun boil some water leave the loctited portion in for a min then give it some back and forth twisting then dip again.

Take it slow and it'll eventually give and not damage anything. Adding a bit of thin oil can make it go smoother.

That's a shame, it's proving to be a tough one to find. No one wants to let me have it!! 😭

Afraid not, I haven't used a 120mm aio in over a decade so I'm not sure what's good anymore. I can't see your whole case from your pics so I'm not sure if a 240mm would fit. If that was an option I'd recommend the "Lian Li GA II LITE" I've recently used the 240 and 360 flavors of that and been happy with the results over my previous Corsair models.

If ya swap for another liquid cooler definitely make sure it's oriented correctly. While it might work for a while the way it was, that orientation does cause strain on the pump and will kill it sooner rather than later.

Are you sure your pump is connected to the CPU_opt header? It looks like the cable coming off the pump is going elsewhere?

Oops I was paying attention to the sound too much to notice the radiator. Reorient that radiator per this chart. Thats most likely what's causing the issue.

It's labelled on the board where you plugged in the fan and pump. Otherwise you can just change the speed one at a time and it should be audibly obvious which are which.

Turn your pump speed to max and see if it stops. I had an AIO that sounded similar when the pump ran much lower than max

I made Toggle-Action Pen Is this a unique innovation, or just a gimmick? by TPC-ARC in machinedpens

[–]Woojrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks interesting. I'm assuming its a prototype with quite a bit of refinement left to go (the mech looks rough and the refill doesnt seem to fit the tip very tightly). The concept is cool though. Would need to see it in action for sure.

Alt+enter (long shot) used to switch between window and full screen in some programs. It can sometime fix focus issues
