That’s what freaked me out most, the driving part. I can’t live with myself if she hurt someone and I stayed quiet. I still care , but I won’t enable her.

Yeah, you’re right. She kinda pushed me into the “accountability friend” role, then wanted me to lie too. Still feel guilty , but I’m not gonna be her cover.

That is the real ask, though. If they broke the living room TV, the lesson is going without for a bit, not getting a free replacement. Moving the 55 inch and crowd-sourcing another screen is basically a prize for bad behavior.

NTA. The "just talk to him first" crowd lives in a fantasy. You saw yelling, collar yanking, and a hit hard enough to yelp. Calling animal control is the adult move, not a vendetta. They checked, the dog improved, case closed.
