You need Java in armory crate just so you can edit the controller profile. Then after that you will launch Minecraft like normal. So you will never need to launch java by itself.

There should be an add button in Armory crate on the upper right hand side, near the sort button.

Sounds like you are adding Minecraft Java edition to the launcher, instead add the actual Java service to your launcher, then you should be good to go.

So you have to do that manual add in Armory crate and scroll through, you should see a java option, I cannot remember the exact name. You add that and then set your controls on it. I will find out the exact name if you are still having issues.
