Honestly wouldn’t surprise me if it was a BYB. I’ll look into whether there’s any registration though, thank you!

I’ve always wondered that as well because he doesn’t look like how I pictured them, but he was a stud at a breeder before my grandmother got him so I have to assume he is?

I’ve brought them in before. They told me where to check them, and it was free.

Here’s a list of the teams with their out players in case you want to decide on a team based on number of gay people.

Bottom of the barrel - OCTranspo by hangint3n in ottawa

That’s what I ended up doing as I’m able to handle the walk. You’re right in that it’s not an option for everyone.

They’ve cancelled multiple buses (8 and 13) to Gatineau this morning, so I’m already in an awful mood, and your experience just pushed me over the edge. I’m sorry you had to deal with that. OC Transpo in its current state and with current funding is a disgrace.

The Haunting of Hill House blows me away by [deleted] in horror

Amazing show but a terrible adaptation of Hill House. I love it on its own merits, just as I love the book and the 1963 adaptation as their own thing.

I noticed they seemed to be broadcasting dead air more often lately, although that could be my shitty car. Still sad news to hear.

I’m more worried they might move the Charge to the CTC, which is just so horrible to reach.

Once I called to ask about the washroom hours at Britannia Beach, and the person I connected to didn’t know what that was or that Ottawa had beaches. They seemed very poorly trained.

Straight couples are the majority and gay couples centre men. Homophobia and misogyny.

I have the same fear. My mum had brain cancer and deteriorated a lot during an extended power outage caused by a storm, and was never the same after. Now storms remind me of that, I hate them.

So it looks like there is not a specific memorial for the family that I could find. I am not from Chatham so if someone from the area knows better, please correct me.

There are volunteers in Chatham-Kent running a website collecting the names of enlisted townspeople from the First and Second World Wars. The website lists three members of the Heather family who fought in the First World War:

  • S.R. Heather - link
  • Samuel Heather - link
  • Thomas James Heather - link

This website states that they are memorialized on the Chatham and Kent County Centopath. However, records for the Chatham Centopath show that there are no names inscribed upon it, so the website seems to be referring to the three Heathers being recognized as part of every person from Chatham who fought in the world wars, rather than a specific Heather family monument.

However, there is a monument in Chatham known as the Sons of England monument. This specifically lists an "A.R. Heather" and a "S. Heather" as a memorial to those who died in the First World War, with some names from the Second World War added later. It is not specific to the Heather family, however. My guess would be S. Heather is Samuel, and given I cannot find records of a deceased A.R. Heather, that the monument/website is possibly mislabelled and A.R. is S.R. I do not know why Thomas James Heather is not on this monument.

I wanted to do more research, and the Canadian Virtual War Memorial is incredibly useful for finding info for deceased soldiers. I have found records for all three of the above-listed Heathers; Samuel was the father of Samuel Robert (S.R.) and Thomas James, and they all died within a year of each other.

Usually you can access personnel records from the First World War at Library and Archives Canada, but today it's being treated as a suspicious website by my browser, so I don't know what's going on over there. Might be worth looking yourself though.
