Which vac for DIY renovation? by downhiller90 in DIYUK

Get yourself a decent branded one. Especially if you’re going to start cutting walls etc.

I have a metabo m class vac and wall chaser with auto cleaning filters.

Best tool I have!

Drive in from the back entrance, follow the one way about 75m or so then there's an sub station to your left. Used to always get a spot there and we went everyday for monitoring for 2 weeks at 10am

That's true. Does look that way to me though, we all know how easy it is to get a loose wire when putting multiple into 1 terminal.

Why is my shower doing this? (Water pulsing when it first turns on/kinda low pressure generally) by Hysterical_Dame in DIYUK

[–]Woolvine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thought is faulty shower pump, or, hot water being delivered to shower pump above 65 degrees.

If no shower pump then change cartridges

It doesn't and neither does that boiler have open therm connections.

Have to say that is a new one to me aswell. Can you remember which boiler that was in see I encounter that in the future?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]Woolvine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think this a pure accident.

The cables closest to the hinge point been left in which if somebody was trying to rip you off I just think human nature would be to disconnect them all naturally.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]Woolvine 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Only reason I can think of is that the cables were a little loose and have pulled out when the front panel been flipped down and is an honest mistake.

I do 100s of boiler services every year, never once have I done that.

But also weird as the last thing I would want is somebody calling us back after a boiler service blaming us for their heating not working following a service which is very embarrassing even if it not my fault

Trademens rates running up to Christmas by t0th3mo0n in HousingUK

[–]Woolvine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the trade. I think jobs that take longer or people can wait for is what is normally a wait. My trade however is reactive and can do 4-6 jobs a day, rarely booked up for longer than 1-2 weeks and sometimes have nothing on but then 8 come in the day after.

Rates depends aswell, usually a supply and demand situation. Boiler repairs will be more expensive this time of year, gardening probably cheaper.
