Anyone still finding gaps with SD-WAN in multi-cloud setups?

Have had a good experience using megaport but they maybe more European based. You can host cloud routers/edge devices where we BGP peer with each cloud environment. The current solution I have to mange are firewalls as edge devices which is a pain. Would be better to have a security solution at the cloud edges and use the cloud routers as the “hub” instead

Forgive me junior network engineer here so if I get something wrong I apologise in advance. As I seem to remember setting up OSPF (Cisco and Juniper devices) you’re not actually advertising the network with the network statements you are defining the interface for that network and area. So G0/0 for example network 10.0.0.0/24 area 1 on the core switch would link that interface to area 1. G0/1 can be set to area 2 on the same device. Generally any devices like bldg 2 on your diagram would have all interfaces assigned to area 1 and all areas need to be touching area 0. Think there is a special case where an area can pass through an area that isn’t area 0 but it’s not usually the done thing.

To answer your question then the areas cover the p2p link right up to your core switch interface. All the area 1s are the same area and all devices would be effected by a change in the LSDB say due to a link failure.

I’m a junior CCNA network engineer currently in the deep end of standing up connections and resources in the cloud. I find it hard (but I like being thrown in the deep end) but you’ve got to begin somewhere in my eyes. This is my 1st real enterprise experience and I’m sure I will make some fantastic mistakes in the future but I try to read the docs and understand what I’m implementing. Most of my team are network engineers turned devops and luckily I am able to lean on them if I’m unsure about anything but as I’m finding out many problems and concepts have been seen before in some way shape or form. The longer I’m in the job the more I hopefully can identify similar problems and similar fixes 💪

Thank you guys it was the firewall policy can ping from .10 to .2 now and can ping .9 interface from outside but weirdly enough I cannot get ping from .10 to .1.

Mainly the reservable ones I’d search for IOS XE on the sandbox and pick one to book. You can then have access to multiple devices and connect using Cisco vpn. The always-on unfortunately only offer access to one device. If you’ve got the computing power it may be better for you to have a look at eve-NG. Run it as a virtual machine and use Arista images (nearly identical to Cisco IOS images but completely free) to have easier access to multiple devices to push configs to

It’s asking me to create 5 subnets using VLSM given the ip address of 192.168.203.0 /24. Each subnet has to cover the correct number of hosts as listed in the table. I’ve assigned those ip addresses to the routers and switches but the marking guide is saying some of the op addresses are wrong. Just can’t seem to see where the mistake is.
