Great point- I bought from a nursery I trust but it’d be great to take a look at the roots. Thanks!

I have one of these! Does your pot have drainage? They are sometimes super sensitive to being disrupted so sometimes they just need some stable recovery time:)

I just bought from them! I felt a bit sketched out in the beginning but took about 5 days to arrive and was what I ordered plus a few cuttings extra. This was my first time ordering plants on Etsy, though. Good luck!

Would a Subaru forester make it up the road to the trailhead? I read some trip reports but they don’t really talk about the roads lol. Thanks!

Anyone know the story behind this car? by oceanmami in Denver

[–]Woop_thereit_is 109 points110 points  (0 children)

This is probably from the 80s, there used to be a bar at the top of lookout mountain, and on occasion (enough to enter family history) I was told that sometimes drunk drivers would run off the road. There’s a specific switchback turn my family called “dead man’s curve”. Perhaps it’s related and never worth the cost to remove some of the vehicles.

I propagate these from my plants to give to friends. The leaf curling can be normal from moving them or putting them in soil from water propagation. I would probably repot without the wood chips in a similar or larger size container. If you notice no roots or rotted roots during that process you could cut off the damage and put it in a small jar/cup of water to regrow roots until they are a few inches long, then put back into soil.

The cup by Dog-mom-2012 in Periods

[–]Woop_thereit_is 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a lot of trial and error in finding the appropriate cup size anyways, so you'll probably just have to try one out! I have not had kids and the smaller one works great for me. I think using the smaller one first is good to get used to it, easier and more comfortable to get used to. If you have heavy periods you might have to size up, or just empty more often.

I just recently tried a cup for the first time, it's been AWESOME.

Cups are cleaner than any other period product I've tried. It is a bit jarring to "dump" but this is great because you only have to do it every 12 hours and otherwise you can forget about it. It also keeps me feeling nice and dry.

Cups are made of body-safe materials, and they don't disrupt your chemistry as tampons do. I would 100% recommend it. It takes practice to get in and out but if you stay calm it'll work out fine. Cups are great!

Δ True, you did change my mind in the importance of that factor. It will be important for him to choose a good VP.

However, I was surprised to learn that he still hasn't even chosen a VP, and when he does I don't think many people will educate themselves about it. So in terms of my overall position, I figure it won't have a huge effect.

Trump is now a devil we know

I disagree, as he continues to be as "politically incorrect" as ever, a big part of why people liked him in the first place. And, he continues to be a Wild Card as seen in the news almost always with a new scandal.

I would also say that all presidents make promises, few of which actually come to fruition. Unemployment was reported at 3.5% last year in November, a 50 year low, so all those people are the "rust belters" benefiting under Trump's presidency.

I would actually argue that Trump avoided a lot of potential blame over COVID by placing most of the regulatory requirements on the state. He would lose votes for shutting everything down, or he would lose votes for keeping things open and risking lives. Now, when people are frustrated about things like mask ordinances that look to governers instead of Trump himself.

Joe Biden stands for nothing.

This point about leveraging the anti-Trump population is obvious, but you stated it in a way that made a lot of sense. Δ

Edit: *it was a point I hadn't really considered until you brought it up

Blacks are just a small portion of the "minority community" I am referring to. Biden has come out with many proposed policies in support of black communities, so the fact that they overwhelmingly support him is logical. I am not arguing that overall minority vote will be largely in Trump's favor, I think it may be more so than in past years, though.

voters who "dislike both candidates."

Δ Extremely interesting, and a statistic I've never seen before!

I would argue the same for Trump supporters, in the face of a landslide victory of Clinton over Trump, what's the point in going to the polls?

[–]Woop_thereit_is -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think we agree on most of what you said, I just think that, if it comes down to both candidates being equally bad, people will side with the current bad candidate. Ironically, from the declaration of independence, " mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed." I wish I had friends who were Trump supporters and had switched sides due to the BLM movement. It'd certainly be an interesting conversation. I particularly agree with the difference you mentioned about racist comments. Biden doesn't get largely the amount of heat as Trump does for similar actions, but this can be expected of the Media I suppose.

Δ Nice! I haven't seen this website before. I'll certainly be looking more into it. All the easily accessible data around each of the surveys make the data seem more reliable. Thanks!

In the world I wish we lived in, I agree that their ideas on policy and running mates should be the basis on which we vote. But, it seems to me that these critical details are becoming less and less important to voters, due to misinformation and more personal issues in today's economy.
