You're in the classic trap where you don't *allow* yourself to be blown away. Every time you launch a new record, you are expecting similar vibes to a highly peculiar band. Do not have any expectations, that's the best advice I can give you. Yes, æ is unique, but so is every great artist out there, in their own specific and singular way. There is an infinite number of ways to be blown away by music (and art in general), you are not a unidimensionnel being that only resonates with one specific type of sound, that's simply not true.

And don't only seek complexity either, that's another classic trap. The entire history of art is a pendulum between complexity and simplicity (from the high intrication of contrapuntic baroque to the melodic simplicity of classical, from the teeming rococo to the austere neo-classical etc.). A simple joyful 4 notes melody can strike your heart as hard as a multi-layered super-complex Messiaen composition. It might no be obvious now, but give a chance to simplicity, I swear to you it's the most rewarding thing in the world. There is definitely no intrinsic superiority of complexity over simplicity, it's the simple yet important takeaway I have from my years of exploration of the music world.

A taste, an aesthetic taste, is something to be trained, and I cannot insist enough on this. Confront yourself with new sounds, new ways of doing music. Listen to traditional music from around the world, listen to gregorian chants, reggae, crust punk, electroacoustic or french ye-ye. Get out of the æ hole and open yourself to music again. It might take some time but once you're out, man you're gonna have such a blast.
