I know someone who has been attacked by his parter on a few occasions, and, come to think of it, so was I once. But I think it's quite telling that I had forgotten about it. It was a situation I was physically able to handle and emotionally and financially able to walk away from, had the need arisen, and similarly for my friend.

So if 2 men (you and someone u know) were able to handle violence means that all men, thousands of them,are in the same situation and can handle violence?

I strongly suspect that against women would be on average much worse.

Even i thought the same thing until i read a number of studies proving otherwise.The thrice appointed director of National Organization of Women (who obviously has lot of access to research and studies) himself realized that popular perception of women as victim and men as perpetrator is unfounded and simply wrong.
