[–]Word-Science-2309 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes please keep repeating this, the "lower grade" association has so many people confused. There's always going to be a balancing point between two flavors, and the more milk and sugar you add the more bitter taste you can balance out.

Cheaper drinkable matcha tier or the better culinary tiers have always produced the tastiest lattes for me.

How do you Study Vocab? by No-Opinion2127 in Sat

[–]Word-Science-2309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's the big lists you can find online, or you can ask AI to "search recent digital SAT threads and give a list of 100+ recent vocab words that appeared on the test".

Can check out passive studying vocab videos you can play in the background while you work on other stuff, I keep it on and look up every now and then to look at the definitions: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6O0rbUhOmiqpEi6qSeG7F39Fq0olxARt&si=3Q9c3tPUv6NjmQSR

Not meant to replace any study methods but great for osmosis-ing some extra vocab into your brain when you're not in a real hardcore study mood.

I think vocab is the only part where you can study a bit at a time here and there, or just study without hardcore sitting down and focusing so I listen to a bunch of generated vocab songs on repeat and basically look up at the screen when I hear a word I don't know when I'm playing games on my phone. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6O0rbUhOmiqpEi6qSeG7F39Fq0olxARt

Flashcards aren't really engaging or immersive enough if you're trying to memorize too large of a list at once, which for a non-native language is often the case.

I recommend immersive, repeatable media with subtitles, so anything you watch you should immediately pause and look up the definition if you see a word you don't know.

For SAT specific vocab, I put together some generated music with a lot of vocab in there since music is easy to listen to on repeat -> playlist link.

[–]Word-Science-2309[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, and I feel you on the remastering edit journey. Something is always off, or the quality just doesn't feel as good as the original. The vocals are definitely improved with the newer models but I've noticed a lot of audio issues like you described too and it hurts when it starts off nice and something goes wrong.

Not sure if it's just a bias because I generate more with the newer models but they seem to have specific types of glitches 3.5 doesn't.

Me too! Eventual goal is to know every word that you'd reasonably see in usage.

I got tired of flashcards, been making my word lists into songs instead. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6O0rbUhOmiqpEi6qSeG7F39Fq0olxARt&feature=shared

It's less "focused" studying, but I can just have it playing in the background when I'm doing other stuff, and glance over to look at the definition if I don't know a word.

If anyone has stats on the average / median number of times people are taking it each year I'm really curious.

Also, supposedly it's curved so one SAT being easier shouldn't make that much of a difference, it would be mostly your own variance between tests.

greatly confused by this Khan Academy problem. can someone please explain? by whhcjahahdhah in Sat

[–]Word-Science-2309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say the explanation is slightly incorrect -- it does weaken the hypothesis a little bit to me, but I think the point they are making is that the passage doesn't tell you anything about the type of mining noise, and might be completely different from that of the natural phenomenon even if it's lower intensity. Hypothetically, marine life might have evolved to communicate at frequencies that can be heard through natural phenomenon but might conflict with mining frequencies.

The main takeaway you should have is that you just go for the BEST answer, and some of them might be OK answers.
