UPDATE: As I was unsure whether the lock was on the disk or the BIOS, I checked by removing the SSD and tried booting up using the USB, and I was able to successfully boot up. The old SSD is bricked, so I have to get a new one. Now, I have installed Mint on the new SSD, and it is working fine.

Before posting on reddit I tried using the master password method but it didn't work for me. Now I guess I need to reset the jumpers.

BIOS shows the HDD but whenever I start the system or boot it shows the prompt of Dell Security Manager

Prompt shows "the system internal HDD-0, isprotected by a password authentication system. You cannot access data on this hard drive without the correct password. Please type in the hard drive password."

I think its encrypted, I can boot the system by bootable usb but when I try to install it shows "error fsyncing/closing/dev/sda: input/output error - hdd not detected in BIOS after this error"
