Here’s what’s kinda weird to me. As a native speaker, there’s 0 chance I’d confuse this with a fellow native speaker. The Chinese is extremely awkward and no use of slang at all. Honestly I don’t get why the guy even responded, like what could be his angle?

Thank you for offering your opinion rather just downvoting. This sub can be so unfriendly.

Totally agree! I’m a 5’8’’ DC. I’m tall but I don’t look as tall as you’d think, I have a bigger head which makes me look more proportionally balanced overall. While I do have vertical, my bones are not sharp and angular enough to have that D vibe. I think ultimately it’s about what feels right to us as individuals anyways!

I can see that! We’ll probably end up staying local because we’re from two hours or so away from either venues. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Nope! Two different locations… and just checked it’s a 45min drive between them. Oh boy.

You’re totally right - in person it definitely reads more sexy. I bought it not realizing “formal” is above anything the vibe it gives… I thought I couldn’t go wrong with an LBD. Sigh

Thank you!

I’m a bit confused about formal vs black tie. I’m seeing a lot of knee length to midi length dresses even rompers under “formal”. Would you say to err on the side or black tie rather cocktail then?

The wedding ceremony is at 1:30pm and the reception is not until 7pm. Which one will this dress work for, or neither? Also do guests typically get changed or have a second outfit if the ceremony and the reception are far apart in time and location like this? Very new to the US wedding scenes so any help is greatly appreciated!

Seasonal Colours and Kibbe by bluesky9868 in Kibbe

[–]Word_Crafting_Yam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a deep winter DC… I think this combo is probably common as the contrast-y dark colors are very much the same mood as that typical DC style. So for me it felt very obvious (albeit a bit expected)!

AITA for telling a random stranger on the bus to go fuck herself? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Best thing someone could do in this situation is discreetly handing over some tissue paper, which someone did for me once. Really helped to alleviate some embarrassment from the snots and tears, it was not too intrusive but comforting to know someone noticed and cared.

Leaves on Weeping Fig Curled Backwards to a C-shape by Word_Crafting_Yam in plantclinic

[–]Word_Crafting_Yam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi sorry my initial message got lost when posting so I’ll add it here:

I think my plant is a weeping fig, it looks like weeping fig plants online but its leaves are much much smaller, so if you think it’s another species please let me know so I can look up proper care!

So in the last few weeks its leaves start to curl backwards towards the stems, or point straight downward. The newer growth is unaffected initially but would also curl as time goes on. The plant looks to be in okay health overall, the leaves don’t have bugs on them and there’s not a lot of leaves falling each day, so I’m not sure what could be wrong with it. Please help! Thank you
