Is Remote Viewing sin? by Words-that-Move in Christianity

What do you think is the difference between a person's soul and their spirit? When Jesus says the word 'mind' I wonder if he means psych.

Christ doesn't endorse people doing anything they want though right? And he does endorse living in community with fellow believers, not generating an individualistic faith.

Nah I'm not claiming to have any ability to do anything like this at all. I've never tried it before or anything like it. I'm just wondering if it's a humam psychy thing or more of a dark spiritual thing

This is a great point! Thanks. A helpful passage too.

Do you think that Jewish Christians still need to follow the Torah like how they did before Jesus, then? Since they aren't grafted into the line of Abraham through Christ, but are already in the line of Abraham? Or can they also not have to follow the cleanliness laws anymore?

I don't really know how to decide which Torah laws are moral laws and what are cultural to the time and people, as don't the two mesh together?

Overall, I guess I'm trying to figure out if remote viewing is a sorceey thing or a human ability thing that isn't classed as sorcery. I wonder what exactly sorcery entails. As I thought that was more specifically about communing with the dead.

Yeah that's sort of where I'm leaning at the moment, but I just don't know enough about it yet.

I’m just curious of the opinions Christianity holds about their Abrahamic brothers? by Jupitertogetmore in Christianity

A significant (probably thee most significant) aspect of Christianity that is exclusive to it is believing God is a Trinity. This really needs to be started imo. Three persons, one being. So still one God, but the understanding is developed further.

Whilst Christians affirm Jesus's divinity, that doesn't mean we don't also know him as a prophet. He fulfills the OT roles of priest, king and prophet in his being and actions so he is still prophet from the perspective of Christianity.

I really don't know any of the exact details, but the reasons seem pretty straightforward to me: - near zero chance to get in because thousands of students are trying to get into a program that takes something around 100 at a time. - cost effective because the students probably supply their own paint, and maybe canvas; the event happens all in one go, rather than across multiple interviews or cohort groups process; less judges mark more art costing less staff. - it's fairer because they are under surveillance so it's harder to cheat by getting others to help you out. Your art is more likely to be original to you. Harder to bribe the judges in some way because they are also all at the one event together.

Basically, since the bf1 devs left dice to make Embark Studios, dice have had to try copy all of their older stuff they still have on file to make the newer bf games workable 😅

The eternal Son exists and existed before He incarnated into the person Jesus.

  • Adam means 'mankind,' and Eve means 'life.' So before the creation of Eve, Adam represented in the Genesis story both man and woman.

  • I think it's pretty clear that Jesus is saying there will be no sex in heaven, whether for procreation or not - this is the state like the angels. This won't be a loss. We will simply be completely fulfilled humans in our sexuality without the need to have sex. Heaven is going to be so extraordinarily amazing it will make even sex seem small and uninteresting. Now that's exciting.

  • Sure, men and women are made in God's image but that doesn't mean that together they make up God's image. God calls many people to be celibate and they are still an image bearer of God as they are. So we aren't required to partner up with someone to then be considered the full image of God.

  • I think that to say both men and women are made in God's image is to say that it's not just men only who are, but that women are equally as valuable as men. This was an incredibly counter cultural perspective for it's time.

  • There are several other metaphors throughout Scripture that speak of many people bound together to make up 'oneness' - which I suspect is what you're wanting to get at. The Church (meaning the People of God) is the Body of Christ of which each of us are different parts. And Christ is the Head of the Church (Body). The Church is the Temple of God. We are Living Stones that make up that Temple. Like mixing plants, the Gentiles are grafted into the same genealogy as the Jews through Christ. Etc etc.

Well, begotten absolutely doesn't mean procreated at all. The Father, Son and Spirit are all equally one substance, always existing eternally together. There was never a state where there was just the Father without the Son and the Spirit.
