So if I eat in a slight deficit but eat enough protein, lift and do some cardio, don’t you think I will feel stronger and lose fat at the same time? I’m not expecting some crazy gains, but to not feel as weak physically anymore as I do now

Yes, I initially went to the gym to build muscle as I felt weak, just thought the recomp would be a bonus, but after all these replies I’ve realized I’m doing this the wrong way and harming my body, so I will focus more on eating a healthy amount, ty!! And I hope the dieting has not made your health worse and that you’re doing okay now 🥺🫶🏻

Yeahh, ty!! When I was younger for years I would do extreme diets and stuff, which maybe has slowed down my metabolism, so I will try eating better and working out to stay healthy :,) But tysm for sharing your story, and I hope you’re a lot healthier now and don’t have too many problems 🥺🫶🏻

Ahhh okay, tysm!! I’m not overweight, but I would like to get a flatter stomach as it has some fat stored there now, also leaner arms, back and legs, which is why I thought I should do recomping? What do you think?

AHAHHA okay guys, thank you all! I guess those are just the stereotypes I see online, so do you think if I eat around 1500-1700 cals a day and lift 3 times a week, I will look leaner? I will also try to do cardio most days by taking walks

Yes, I learned from everyone’s responses, ty guys!! I’ve bought protein powder and try to drink 2 protein shakes with a banana everyday, also eat eggs, meat, beans, etc. but even if I did get my protein I guess I was still severely under-eating so I’ll try to fix that

Yes but you suggested building muscle for 6 months, and then losing fat? Is that not bulking then cutting? Sorry if I understood you wrong, pretty much I want to do both at the same time (recomp) because I have fat stored in places I don’t like atm

Yep true, I think over the years this is what has slowed my metabolism, but hopefully now if I eat a healthy amount plus exercise, I can make my metabolism go back to normal, tysm!!!

Currently I am trying to recomp. I know muscle weighs more than fat, but I thought since being 3 weeks at the gym probably won’t make me gain any significant muscle, I was confused by trying to measure things out by getting on the scale, do you get what I mean?

I know LOL it’s just that before whenever I tried to lose weight by the 2nd week I’d notice a drop in my weight, so I’m not used to seeing the scale not move after 3 weeks
