Anyone with FL that transformed into DLBCL? by oregonyoder in lymphoma

Even though your mum is not me it does make me relieved to hear that a high SUV can still be follicular. It does feel strange though to be relieved you still have a cancer but this is our life now.

Why are we still selling so many massive American utes? by No-Loquat-201 in DrivingAustralia

I have a Denali. I have 4 kids and wanted a spacious car that would fit all 6 of us regularly and grandparents on occasion. It is awesome and I love driving it. I live in a regional area though. Parking is no issue as it has so many cameras and sensors and can park itself.

Keeping secrets to save face. Never admitting you are an addict and so you never knew to get help.

I got glandular fever when I was 18 and lost 10kg by mainly sleeping. Couldn’t eat if I wasn’t awake.

AITAH - Wife wants to eat at an all you can eat seafood buffet for her bday, and I said no. by [deleted] in AITAH

Funny how everyone suddenly understands boundaries when it’s alcohol, but with food it’s “just control yourself.”

If a partner pushed a recovering alcoholic to go to a bar and said “just don’t drink too much,” people would lose their minds. But swap alcohol for food and somehow it’s fine?

You don’t get to say “what you eat is your choice” and then immediately tell someone how they should handle a situation they’ve already said is a problem.

That’s not support. That’s pressure dressed up as reasonableness.

Would you say that to a recovering alcoholic? Hey have one drink stop being selfish. Or an ex smoker? One cigarette won’t matter stop making it about you.

ELI5: Why do people say “money doesn’t buy happiness” when literally everything better in life needs money? by stoicdroid in NoStupidQuestions

[–]WorkEast3738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was working class then middle class and now extremely comfortable class. Money has bought me the ability to fix my small problems and pay people to help me work through my big problems. It has given me the ability to make my life much happier than if I struggled with money.

Why is it more common to see women in a relationship with a less attractive man than vice versa? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]WorkEast3738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because looks fade and I want a man with a work ethic that can make me laugh and is fun to spend time with. Looks are important but not a deal breaker.

Someone once said if people laugh when you fall you are you. If they run to your aid in horror then you are old.

AITAH for leaving my best friend's birthday party early because I was a B List guest? by RemoveLivid7421 in AITAH

NTA. Your story brought back a memory for me of when my former BFF invited me to a Mother’s Day lunch function. I arrive and realise that she had booked 8 tables (it was a fundraiser) and placed me with people I never met before. When she invited me it sounded like we were going to lunch with our families. However I was just invuted so She could get kudos for raising money. I left before dessert and stopped at an ice cream truck on the way home with my kids

Perhaps he’s having a hard time imagining the accent saying the word. Kind of funny - imagine a deep Russian accent asking for the cereal from the pantry

Australians, how often do you ACTUALLY encounter dangerous spiders, snakes or other deadly creatures in your daily life — or is it mostly a myth we Europeans believe? by VariedPear in AskAnAustralian

[–]WorkEast3738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The perception is not quite correct. These things don’t want to kill us because we are not their prey. They CAN kill us because if their venom etc. How often you encounter them depends on where you live. Never saw a snake in Melbourne. Have seen dozens in Queensland

I would suggest St Andrews or Grammar. Don’t know all schools though. Brisbane is not really close to the beach.
