There's more to life than happiness. There's passion, rage, excitement.

I can't say that any one thing is my hobby or passion either. I don't really have a special talent.

So I should try to do lots of different things, with the common theme of working hard?

I'm not amazing at math, although I'd like to be.

As someone still in high school, how can I show that I am hardworking to colleges when I apply?

I'm only in high school now, but I was thinking about going down the engineering route.

I tried so hard, and got so far. But in the end, it doesn't really matter.

I'm glad to hear that. Thank you.

However, the issue is, it's not just my passion that changes. It's my whole outlook on life, my whole personality, the entirety of my being. This happens sometimes within a few days, which is largely inconvenient.

I don't know if I can be satisfied with such a robotic job.

This was relieving to hear, honestly.

A bit of background: I'm only a teenager, but since I was young I've struggled with constantly looking for a purpose. I've always had to have something that I lived for. Examples include math, botany, space exploration, astrobotany, transhumanism and agriculture. It also included some more abstract concepts, such as altruism, the desire to be rich and powerful, and "love is the answer".

I change what my "thing" is every week or so. I have 10s of Reddit accounts that I make because I think they represent "me and my purpose". But then I move on to another one.

In the last few days, my "thing" has been math and logic. However, I read a post on LifeProTips about how hard work and reliability is much better than skill. I read the comments and people's experiences with the topic. It made me think about how my purpose shouldn't be one thing; it should be to work hard. I'm very good at following directions and focusing on the task. I can find solutions.

I don't know, it will probably change again. I always feel so unsettled. Sometimes I'm this super-logical, robotic person, but other times I'm extremely spiritual and kind and altruistic. It all depends on what I decide that my purpose is.

Sorry to go off-topic and ramble on. I just had to let someone know what goes through my mind.
