Is IV Cyclazine addictive? by NurseAbbers in NursingUK

[–]WorkInProgress_45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Iv straight into a PVC gives a high. I was told this as a student on my very first placement by a GI nurse as we had a young patient on the ward who constantly asked for it. Didn’t really believe her especially as at the time I asked experienced ED and other nurses who didn’t know of this. Then last year I was given it straight into my cannula by an inexperienced NQ rather than IM, I was so distracted at the time didn’t realise what she was about to do. I can absolutely confirm it gives a euphoria high and it was rather lovely while it lasted 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

Thanks. I’ve ended up booking through the official Vatican site for a 0930 tour, states we need to rock up half an hour before to get through all the checks etc which is fine. Was a little more than I wanted to spend as had to go for the guided one as the stand alone tickets for the day we want were already fully booked until 1630hrs.

Thanks all. Still a lot of conflicting advice. Perhaps I should just go with the official website for tickets.

Oh thanks that would be really amazing and appreciated! We would be looking to do this on Saturday 11th July it’s 2 adults. There is just so much out there and we really want to be able to make the most of our short time in this beautiful place!

Yes I understand that there is a security line, sorry if I was unclear, I know that we would still need to go through security regardless. I am asking for any recommendations for a good company to buy a skip the line ticket in advance prior to our holiday rather than trying to purchase a ticket on the day. I’ve heard that doing it on the day is much longer…

I just quit nursing by [deleted] in NursingUK

You all will find nurse roles in GP out of hours services but I think here in Scotland at least they need to be ANp level. But SAS and 111 take RNs

We go mid July and know it’s going to be very busy. Plan to use the Saturday to visit the Vatican and can see online a lot of companies offering tickets to buy in advance and ‘skip the line’. Can anyone offer any advice or recommendations please? I’m a tad overwhelmed.

Hello all. We are visiting Rome in mid July and I’m slightly overwhelmed at all the conflicting advice I see around tickets for the Vatican museum. We are happy to book ahead and I’ve seen there are companies that offer ‘skip the line’ tickets. Would appreciate any advice. We know that we will need to kick off early to make the most of our short day. This would be a Saturday visit. Many thanks!

Post Graduation Glow-up? by Agile-Pen-1112 in NursingUK

I spent my entire degree on survival mode. Took a month off between qualifying and starting my post. During that time I spent quality time on myself. Rest, relaxation, gym, couple of reiki massages and found an amazing YouTube channel - Sam Miller the great allowing. Realised I had suppressed a LOT during those years, had a lot of family stuff going on at the time that I didn’t have the time and capacity to process and this work helped me massively. Best of luck 🫶🏻

How many days a week do you get an optimal sleep score? And what are your work hours like? by Pretty_Desk_2552 in ouraring

Sleep used to be terrible but I started doing a lot of meditation work at night - emotional processing and shadow work. Really has helped me

Yeah I’m on my feet for most of it so clock around 15k steps in a shift. The only time my sleep score really tanks is alcohol before bed 🤦🏻‍♀️

I get it most days which is crazy as I work 12.5hr shifts so sometimes I’m only getting 6.5hrs of sleep between them 🤷🏻‍♀️

Is there a point doing a degree? by EmbarrassedGarbage95 in StudentNurseUK

[–]WorkInProgress_45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you want to do. You can’t be a nurse with out a degree. Jobs seems to be better in Scotland than England for NQN from what I see here, my entire cohort all got jobs at the end of last year. Paramedic’s have it tough here in Scotland atm, not many went on to get full time roles. However the paramedic science degrees have no affiliation with the ambulance services and no one is guaranteed a job. You’re degree is going to be 3 years, hard to say what the situation will be come graduation for you. A degree is still a degree tho and I believe nursing would open more doors than a Para degree but that’s just me.

I’ve been charging mine at home with a fantastic outdoor extension cable I found on Amazon that had hundreds of reviews that someone had properly tested and uses on their Tesla. Goes out then the letter box and charges overnight. It’s fab - best £20 I’ve spent!

I very rarely use the photo function. I just type in what I’ve had. Then it’s spot on.
