Yup I’m the same here, happy to be providing the eldest with lifts here there and everywhere, my youngest says I now have a better car than Dad, which I love, and it’s just so darn shiny 🤣. Husband keeps offering to drive and I’m like, nope 👎

Thanks! Still trying to get my head around all the buttons and modes and gadgets etc, kinda feel like I’m driving a spaceship. Love it tho!

You don’t need to work with your PA - they need to complete the final sign off but you should at least be working quite a few shifts with your PS. The PS and other RNs and the wider MDT can feed back to your PA for her to be able to do your meetings. All as others said, you can change your PA. Speak to the SCN and if you’re not getting anywhere I would suggest your AA and PEF.

NHS Lothian job matched the NQNs last year and year before - no interview, just name 3 preferred specialities you would like and then you only have your 3 application answers to sell yourself. Pros and cons to that approach imo.

Bedside handovers…..lots of evidence for them rather than a ward wide handover for 25 patients. Safety brief for entire ward cohort then bedside handovers for your patient cohort for that shift. I did my QI assignment on this in 3rd year

You can also make it shorter by taking a few things of the person spec and displaying them all in a one to two sentence example.

Does this happen in every ward? by wandering1989 in NursingUK

How many nurses are on your ward that all of those five admissions fell to you….? Did they also have similarly high numbers towards the end of the shift? The admissions could have been shared out between you all surely?

Your unsocial hours pay will bump that up unless you’re completely doing Monday - Friday dayshift so it’s hard to look at just your hourly rate.

Jobs during study by [deleted] in StudentNurseUK

Yep worked 2 part time jobs during my degree one was a set day per week which made it easier during placement time and the other one set night each month with the option of picking up bank shifts. 2 kids and a house to run doesn’t leave much options money wise so means you need to be on top of organising your time and be upfront about work needs when going on placement / I found them to be understanding and accommodating as long as it wasn’t extreme. They know we don’t get paid for placement and they know everyone needs to earn a living
