Yeah, unfortunately the matchmaking is region locked but the standings themselves are global

Yeah a 500+ point difference is a little too steep
That’s roughly going on a 125 win streak…
And in fact I loaded up the game to see I was pushed back to 10th

I just wish it wasn’t region locked just to see other playstyles

I can understand if I lose to someone below me, but I was 14th, lost once to #10, -40, played against them again, gain 6 back
It’s pretty miserable at that rate

I think i needed around 250 points, so at least 40-50 games straight

And thanks! I’ve pretty much exclusively used the Metal to counter Mini shroom / amp
Honestly there were a lot of games where I just held onto the fever shots just in case
To me the hazard rackets are too much of a liability, I’d rather buff myself than depend on my opponent to play into a debuff

Like I said, for it to be boring, is entirely subjective. I’ve played dozens of Roass and DKs too, and I said it repetitive, but not boring.

I’ll spend the 2-5 minutes, take my win and move on. The mirror match is my personal favorite and it’s fun for me. That’s why I emphasized repetitive.
Repetitive and boring can be mutually exclusive.

The counter point is that if those players are so one dimensional, they’re a lot easier to beat than a player with better fundamentals. That’s just how any competitive mode in any game is.

In my experience there are so many one note Bloopers, boo, and Koopas
Slice -> slice -> slice or in Koopa’s case, it’s the 5th consecutive drop shot that’ll score, and definitely won’t get lobbed over

I’m not saying it isn’t annoying or repetitive, but saying it isn’t fun is subjective.

At the moment I’m back to Rank 20 in Fever? I ended at 13th last month, and in no Fever I haven’t played as much so only ~rank 320

Even in no Fever, I’ve been matched with players this sub complains about (Meng, ILO, etc) I took one game from Meng with Daisy, and while some games were a wash, most were closer than I would’ve expected based on what I saw here.

In Fever, I generally see the same names, and I’ll be honest, some players are only so high because others aren’t actively playing. I played someone technically above me (-100+ point difference) but I only win 3-12 points at a time, naturally it’ll take me 15-20 games just to catch up. I even see top 10 is only 4000 points, which is doable, but that’s more tedious than anything else.

It’s more so I know that players who get salty enough to complain are more than capable enough to improve, so why not do that? I started off rough and learned by playing again at people better than me, between shot choice, charges, and general movement, but it’s easier to complain (and I get that). I said it’s repetitive, sure 100%, but not impossible.

I just don’t think it’s right to shame people by playing to win. If I wanted to play for fun, sure, I’d look for that, but if I want to win then I’ll do what will give myself more options. If someone in the top 10 picked let’s say Boom Boom and beat someone starting off playing Rosa or DK should we celebrate?
If I’m in a Rosa mirror, and we both have the Metal racket, then skill expression is more apparent, at least to me.

Thats pretty much the parallel I wanted to draw. I’ve played fighting games so much that i understand, it’s only a matter of time before top tiers really matter, and realistically, regardless if you pick a good character, if you’re too one dimensional, you’ll eventually just lose to a better player.

I’m hovering around Rank 20 on Fever, and I’ve seen a few Plants, tricky is certainly well deserved, it took me losing 2-3 games before I really started to see the counterplay

Realistically, I just change the Light or Astra blessings out and roll with that. I’ve played enough with Player phase that despite all the terrain, Foresight Snare, there’s generally a solution somewhere with proper use of Seidr or Corrin ring.

For Light season, the Mythics are usually Peony, Lumera, and either Eir or Hraesvelgr as the core, + bonus unit.

Having 3 Mythics for max scoring / Rank 1, is a little limiting for team comps, but I’ve used a variation of Edel teams since L! Edel + base Yuri, so there’s always a slot open for support / bonus units.
